The reason the x was invisible for you is because you need to wear the glasses to see the x

The X is only visible if you're wearing these pink tinted glasses

Hiii I’m actually really stuck and I don’t know how to move on, none of the number buttons (like the one hidden behind the safe and the one in the vent) won’t activate, and none of the statues have appeared? Ive completed 1&2, and think I have gotten ending 5. I have given the ratty dog in the vent the dried rat, and don’t know what to do from there. Will I have to restart because none of the codes work?

Nono, for the safes you need to buy power supply from Rosa. Each level means you can open one more safe. And every safe means a statue appears. Then when you have done everything line the statues correctly and get the ending
