Words can't describe how much I loved this game. Impeccable lore and story that really raised the stakes compared to the first two games, with fun side mechanics and the best partner Pokemon ever. Ukulele Pichu is the only ukulele player I trust anymore.

This was a severely underrated game. I loved it as a kid and am actually working through a replay right now! Thanks for the memories!

The celebi thing when you time travel and fight arceus is probably the peak of my entire life

First game was a lot harder. Each pokemon had a number of circles needed to capture and they had to be continuous

Gaurdian signs was my first ever Pokémon game,I still remember booting up that save file at the local Giant,and seeing my beloved ukelelechu for the first time Miss that little dude,wish they brought him back for an event

Friendly warning for the first game, you can’t lift your stylus mid loop. Pokémon have a number above their head that tells you how many loops you need to do. If you remove your stylus it resets. Also the Manaphy egg may be one per cartridge (not save, I haven’t tested this rumor).

The Manaphy is true, as I got a used copy and even after starting a new file, it still had the "hope manaphy is doing well" cutscene

This was one of my FAVORITE games as a kid and I totally forgot about it til now. Definitely gonna find my old copy and play again

I know it might never happen, since it's going to be hard finding out a way to make the capture system work on something that isn't the DS, but ever since the release of the switch, i've been hoping for a reboot of the series, it's easily one of the most unique pokemon spin offs, and my favorite aswell :) Shadows of Almia was soooo good

Yes,the switch has a touch screen so it could work Sad that the screen is absolutely not strong enough

The dialogue in Pokémon Ranger games is absolute gold. It just never misses

I REMEMBER THIS GAME! It was the only Rangers game I'd gotten, and I think it was given to me as a present for Christmas or my birthday. I'm SO happy to see you covering this. I can already hear the Pichu playing it's ukulele like it did so long ago. I'm definitely going to enjoy this video, this is a blast of nostalgia I'm more than happy to get.

I love the Ranger games so much, theyre a lot of fun with good stories and lore in my opinion. Then again, this is coming from a person who has beaten all 3 of them multiple timee and filled the browser for all of them. I get that the guide probably doesn't talk too much about the post-game and quests, but those are a huge part of these games and I can't recommend them enough. Shadows of Almia is my personal favorite, but Guardian Signs is also phenomenal! Excited for you to play the others (and likely have the worst time with the original Ranger game, the capture system is frustrating to say the least)

If you havent you need to play the special episodes!! By following a guide on YT i was able to download all the special episodes for Almia and Guardian Signs, I havent played the GS episodes yet but the Almia ones are super fun!! Ive 100% the first two games, but the multiplayer in the third is little daunting so i have yet to do that yet

Shadows of Almia is definitely the best ranger game, imo, but the series is seriously underrated and honestly how I want the pokemon world to work

I will not die until they make another Pokemon Ranger game. I will live one thousand years out of spite

Guardian signs is one of the best Pokemon games honestly. Especially the lore and post game legendaries quests. You can even get Arceus in the final mission of the game which is impossible without more people or cheats

this was my first pokemon game i ever played as a kid and its so cool that you were able to make a nintended video about it. it was so cool to watch someone play through it again and relive the memories i had playing it as a kid. riding the legendaries is still the coolest thing to me ever and i love that they brought it back kinda in oras with the soaring mechanic, and kind of in pla with ride pokemon (but theyre not the same in my eyes ;0;) regardless!! it was so awesome to watch this video

it's been so long since i've played this! I completed the browser for it, I think twice. I played shadows of almia a few more times than guardian signs, but i really liked this one. loved how the water looks in aqua resort.

Not surprised you didn’t beat the first Ranger game. It’s honestly pretty rough and difficult compared to the other two, and I’d recommend starting the series with the second or third game.

I loved the ranger games so much! I swear apparently I don’t remember too much of this game though outside of ukelele pichu and the legendary dogs being mounts cause I thought that was the sickest thing as a kid.

I always preferred Shadows of Almia’s story, but I have such fond memories of playing the multiplayer mode for this game with my cousin over that summer. We never finished it, we hit a wall against (I think) an Electivire, but we spent hours playing that together.

Like the other games say, the 'loops' transfer for feelings of friendship and desire not to cause them harm. You're basically asking for the Pokémon to help you, whereas the bad guys basically mine control the Pokémon.

Pokemon Ranger, especially Guardian Signs and Shadows of Almia, are such nostalgic games. I remember playing them when I was younger, and I still enjoy replaying them to this day. They hold up really well in my opinion and I'd be so over the moon if a fourth game is ever made. A girl can dream

My youngest brother played both the OG Ranger and Shadows of Almia in the lead-up to the release of Guardian Signs. GS is the only one that I played, and I remember loving that game. Have never gone back to it, since I no longer own a NDS, but would very much like to when I have a chance

I love Pokémon ranger more than the mystery dungeon games, and I absolutely love the PMD games. The story was great and summoning Pokémon in PRGS was sooo cool to me as a kid

The original Switch had a touchscreen. You could easily have docked/portable circling mechanics. They missed that opportunity.

I could be wrong but I think you can use those summon signs during battle to summon the pokemon as a free poke assist but it's hard to do without the enemy pokemon breaking your symbol

i played shadows of alima first (The second game) then got this watching you call the capture stylus a beyblade freak out about ukulele pichu and etc.just made me giggle

be glad you bought it then, i have this one, and then pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky, my local game store priced it at $100. insane prices rn. then wanted $10 for my action replay LOL

I got this game probably used when I was a kid, and played it to the point I had hurt my wrist from doing the small circles and rubbed the stylus against my hand to the point my parents got me fingerless gloves to assist with it lol. I remember after beating the game i loved playing with the symbols to just run around with each legendary we could call on.

That was the most savage "your mom" joke yet and I love it.

I've played all three myself. Shadows of Almia was my first if I remember correctly and in my opinion is the best of the three. The gimmicks in this game though of going back in time (better in co-op) and using signs to call forth specific pokemon are fun.

I got the Pokemon Ranger Ukulele Pichu game (the one in this video) because I thought Black 2 was a simple rehash of Black, boy I sure was mistaken but enjoy that I saw Ukulele Pichu before most people.

The ranger games are my FAVORITE Pokemon games, full stop. I was really disappointed as a kid when everyone only played mystery dungeon, and nobody played ranger. The 2nd game in the series though is absolutely my favorite, and I recommend it to everyone. But honestly, all the games did stuff that the main series didn't even get around to yet at the time, like facing the bosses in any order, or having overworld encounters. I really want more people to play these games. I wish they'd make a new one, though I get that it'd be hard with less precise touch controls compared to the DS days. That's why as a kid I was so disappointed since the 3DS would have been perfect for more games in the series.

11:52 you can if you have flying Pokemon caught in the sky but the guide didn't say that as I have played blindly through the whole of Guardian Signs single player campaign, the multiplayer unlocks the one per cartridge distribution Pokemon like Deoxys and Manaphy

Miss these spin-offs.

The multiplayer in this game is also surprisingly fun. It’s unfortunately super hard and close to impossible to beat solo, and this game wasn’t exactly popular enough to play with even 1 other person that often (let alone 3 others), but if you can make it happen I highly recommend it.

Still can't believe this game had the balls to literally nuke the tutorial island aka your Partner Pichu's home and it NEVER COMES BACK. IT'S COMPLETELY WIPED FROM THE MAP OF THE REGION

I remember playing this when it first came out as a young teen and my jaw literally dropped. I actually started to tear up because I legitimately thought all the pokemon were killed and felt for Ukulele Pichu. It was a major relief when I saw Booker saved them.

This game was so much fun, I remember playing under my covers at night
