Considering the millage, condition and service history that price seems fair. You would never get that below £4K no matter what the guide says

First of all 6100 pounds is not a whole lot of money for a car like that, unless it was damaged somehow or the interior was shot, and it had a whole lot of miles, I paid 20K for an slk 32amg but it had extremely low miles and in pristine condition, and at an auction it probably would have fetched at least 14K. When you go to auctions, your only fear is if somebody else wants it more than you, if they don't you come out smelling like a rose! lol

I only drive Mercedes and I have had a look at a few of these and the money they are asking for absolute sheds is insane. I would say the price it went for is a fair price. When they go wrong, you need very deep pockets. They are a nice car but can be money pits.

I still think it’s too expensive for an Auction as it ended up selling same money as all private sellers were shifting on AT (cars you can actually inspect and test drive). On a separate note, I’ll never forgive myself for not buying an e55 estate that was owned by the Pink Floyd drummer… went for £4.1k at this auction a month or so ago before this video was taken 😭😭😭

Guide prices are only to lure you to attend the auction 🤗

thats ridiculous ... should be around 3k .... has to be the 2006 model onwards ... those older ones are nothing but trouble

The guide does not write cheques. If you have a relatively common vehicle on the block…average color..average mileage….average options…sure..use the guide. If you have an odd ball with awesome miles for the year…great color…and it’s a relatively rare car….then throw the guide away..it will just screw you up. Ultimately buy a car..where the only thing a buyer argues about is the price!…you will sell it every time! If this car sold for high price…go and buy one on the Autotrader..clean it up and bring it to the block.

But that was a £90K car when new...

Way, way, way overpriced....... obviously bought by an auction novice, nobody in the trade would have touched it when it got above mid book estimate. Mercedes are ok when they're going well, but when they need something, you better sit down before you collapse. I have a C Class, had it for 5 years, never had to do anything to it, apart from general wear and tear - - - - - until this year's MoT, got £40 change out of £1000!!!!! £960 for an MoT!!! £600 of that was just the parts, and the bill would have been bigger at a Mercedes garage!!!! front springs, lower suspension arms, abs sensor and a brake pipe - - - - any more money and it'll be up for sale!!!!

@@GM-ii8gs NOT exactly a bargain, fuel and road tax are the biggest expense!!! £110 a tank, £180 tax....... but to be fair, I average 600+ miles on a full tank, on 3rd set of tyres too..... £150 each, get a good Merc and they'll last years

@@gggggggg3542 Mate £192 a year for maintenance is a bargain, just you had it in one hit, you'll have all the other costs with any other car, this not a Yaris, tax, tyres and fuel economy will be more for a 3 pointed star, the only other way of getting it cheaper is to get the bus or walk!! I have 2 Mercs, SL500 on 122k and a E220 on 237k, I done the miles and don't begrudge the maintenance, it hasn't been wild for the miles done.

Terrible dashboard, nothing beats the the R129. I would never buy an SL350.
