I asked the Lord that I may grow, He is growing me through so much pain and crushing pressure. My husband of 18 years and father of our 9 children passed away very unexpectedly in his sleep. We are devastated, but God is working and stretching us.

@christinasushi3665 we are all struggling with our emotions. He was such a piller in our day. He worked from home, so we were always together. I miss him more and more each day. Then someone really close to me this week at church, said I needed to smile, and it has only been 3.5 weeks. It hurt coming from someone who says I am her daughter. Church was a place where we shared the same hymnal, he would smile and point when I sang the wrong words, 😆 playful banter. We held hands always while singing, and I would sit in the cleft of his side real close. I just miss him so much!

I feel your pain, my wife of 22yrs and 4 children 10-19yrs, is seeking a brutal divorce as could be imagined, despite being a Christian. I have been so kind and compassionate towards her medical conditions yet ses turned e tables and seeks to destroy me. May God give me strength to persevere...

Hurt and humbled this past week with a conclusion given that will yield unfulfilled dreams I must face the rest of my life. However my future is in the Hands of Almighty God. Thank you for this reminder.

Oddly, the melody of this song, is strikingly similar to the main title score to the movie, "The River Wild." I doubt that composer Jerry Goldsmith had any knowledge of this hymn, but nonetheless, the similarity is noteworthy, IMO. I will encourage members of my church to subscribe to this channel, to be blessed by this timeless powerful music.

The name is in the video description. “O Waly, Waly” (or “the water is wide”), an old Scottish folk song. I’ve heard The Wondrous Cross use this tune as well. But the text is in full 8.8.8.8 meter, which is fairly common, so there should be plenty of options for texts and tunes that would match.
