i made this animation for practice. i decided to record it and share it. i want to mention that i can't speak or read japanese. i'm just able to remember where everything is in MMD and i prefer to use mmd in japanese. i'm sorry that i made it look like i can understand the language. the only language i learned growing up is english. i'm happy that these videos are inspirational for some of you! i want to actually talk/use my voice in these type of videos someday. i'm just very nervous about it. so i decided to upload these "i animate" videos for now until i'm confident to do stuff like that :D

WOW, can I just say I don't care how you sound, your the most talented MMD animator I've ever seen. The fact that you can navigate the Japanese interface purely using muscles memory show us how much time, effort ,dedication and love you have to your craft. You truly make your characters come to life and its beautiful.

Is there an advantage to using the Japanese version of MMD over the English? Is it not just a simple language swap, or are there actual differences between the two? I just can't imagine using the one with a language I can't understand over the one I can, even if you get good at memorizing what and where everything is.

nope there's not an advantage. i just would rather use it in japanese. that's all there is to it.

question: do you have the ideas for these planned out before you start animating? or do you just go along and wing it? or is it a mix of both, like "i had this planned out, but i think this would look a lot cooler now that im actually in the process of making it"

ye i like to do both. i do wing it and sometimes i'll write down ideas or i'll make a 2D animatic.

i'm using MMD version 9.32 it looks different because of this: i changed the color . txt file to make mmd navy blue and i have a windows 10 theme. this is the theme i'm using in this video: www.deviantart.com/kdr3w/art/Dev-825722799

ye i can do that. are you talking about the interpolation curve? it changes how quick or slow the movements will be. this is just how i see it. i make curves that i think will work with what i'm going for. I also set the thing to "All" instead of rotation. (it's above the auto button) you'll see different results depending on what curves you use.

left click and drag the mouse to move keyframes/the diamonds. i'm using the arrow keys to move on the timeline. if you're talking about the music playing when i'm moving on the timeline then all you do is click file and then play with wav. (the audio file has to be a wav file in order for it to work.)
