My dad's father was killed in a train accident. Jhasa and my natural grand father both immigrated from the USSR together. When he heard of my grand dad's death he sent money to my grand mom and brought them to California where he had a hand in raising my dad. My dad grew up to play 1'st violin in the u.s. naval orchestra.

It's not on whether she's the most perfect violin player alive, she doesn't need to be either. Nor André Rieu is for that matter of fact. BUT: She is among the most versatile violin players alive and she has both the natural and the technical skills to turn her interpretations something of her own, really, like or may I say even better than Rieu. Those are really the kind of musicians that bring the good ole classics to the contemporary listeners on such a fashionable way. Regular people's way of listening to music is very different now than what it was back in the days. Perhaps Pavarotti, Carreras, Domingo and Rieu to an extent were the first to notice that, followed by the likes of Andrea Boccelli. Now it is time for more specific jobs on more specific instruments. Then we're starting to have the likes of Anna Lapwood, Karolina Protsenko and others.

What a beautiful violin with an exquisite sound and history! Incredible! I still have my first violin that I received at age four, but that would only make it 37 years old. Still special to me though.

Oh, my, the colour and resonance of that violin are astounding! It bringa depth and gravity to both of the violinists, but also handles the whimsical and sadness beautifully! It is so tear-jerking that it ought to be a cello, yet has the clarity of crystal on the high notes!

Wow what an honor to be able to play the great Jascha's violin. Did he say it was his Gaurneri? That was supposed to have been his favorite and the one he used towards the end of his career. I think he had Stradivarius as well. As violinist that must feel like holding and playing the Holy Grail. Karolina must be considered worthy because not just anyone can play that violin. Well done!!!

Wow Karolina! You have made such amazing progress learning violin. Your intonation, dexterity and articulation of the fast passages, and bowing are excellent. You have a great future ahead of you. You rightly pointed out that you have to adapt your playing to the responsiveness of each individual violin. It takes time to learn to finely balance bow pressure and bow speed to get the best resonance and tone from a violin. I have a strong feeling that one day as a professional musician you will become the 'custodian' of a Stradavarius! As violinists we never really 'own' our instruments. We have use of them during our lifetime and then pass them on into the custody of the next generation.
