The past week, we made a plan and booked our ferry ticket to escape to Lewis and Harris. However Scotland and yet more storms had other ideas!
We had to cancel our plans, head back to the Cairngorms National Park, head into Aviemore in Scotland and prepare for yet more storms, Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice were heading our way!
However after the past few months of just constant storms, I am kind done with storms now! So much so that I am planning to head south back into England, to repair some issues I have now got with the storm damage to the van and go visit family for a break!
So lets pack the van and go!

Loving your videos. You will love Lewis and Harris when you finally get there. I’ve been many times and it is so beautiful. Try to make it to North Uist too - all the islands in the chain have a different feel. 😀

@@PackTheVanAndGo You too mate. I'm planning part time van life this year and full time next year, once I have all my financial plan set up from rental income. I will have to rent my home out as well next year. Sorting that will be the biggest hurdle. I'm coming up with loads of ideas to soundproof the camper I'm building at the moment, to make it as quiet as possible for my young son. So I intend to build a full length poptop and cover the roof with as much solar as possible. It will be a spin on the old style VW side hinged pop up roof. My 9 year old is hype sensitive to noise. So hopefully coving the whole roof with a full length poptop which will have sound deadening insulation inside. Plus more on the inside of the normal roof should reduce the noise of heavy rain etc. The poptop will be a project for Autumn/Winter. Before we go full-time and chase the sun.

I think we maybe drove up there when you might have been there as when we got there it was rammed, People were sledding and the road was closed. Shame we never saw you. Its due to snow heavily here tomorrow

I’m really smirking at my decision to take early retirement, but a motorhome, spend most of winter in southern Spain. Having said that, I miss a bit of snow. However, it’s usually a mush of snow, storms, and grey, cold weather. Still, looks like you’ve both enjoyed mist of it 👍💙❤️

I'm not surprised that you are done with storms and more to come. When I saw the ice on the inside of your windows, it reminded me of when I was a kid having to go to bed with thick ice on the window and no heating. I will never forget that as I was exhausted from shivering for hours, as there were no duvets or sleeping bags back then. Any heating is better than none and summer seems such a long way off.

Archie is so cheeky 🤣 . The sound of the snow crunching beneath your feet is the best .. Kids are chaotic aren't they,thats why we live in a truck 😬
