its so weird to hear another person say Nexus TK. That was my first MMO, and when I saw this i immediately thought: Someone who played Nexus is developing this game.

Put about 7 hours into it just to give it a fair shake. Not gonna lie, this thing feels like a shareware demo. The grind is VERY slow and with VERY little payoff at the moment. I hit level 13, and roughly level 5+ in every crafting skill category. There is so little to do in the game that people are already selling all the quest items for gold. Another gripe is the cloth and tanning skills are not in the newbie area, and is dangerous to reach until you are level 10 or so. This means your inventory and bank can fill up from rodent pelts unless you sell them. And I haven't even unlocked the soft pelts craftable, so I'm loaded down with those (deer and boars). The XP system is so short-sighted that you get zero benefit while hunting for craft mats (like killing hundreds of bunnies for a few dozen pelts as your only reward). There's also no real community resources yet (understandable) so it's very hard to know the goals you're working towards. At level 13 Mage, I still only have two spells (one heal spell, one freeze spell). And most areas are overcrowded with other players hogging kills and craft mats. You can usually find a place to do what you're trying to do, but it can take a while to find. Couple that with the grind itself and the lack of good payoff makes it challenging to hold my attention for very long. But, the game seems to have some potential

I love grinding out these sorta MMORPGs early and then seeing how they go... 9/10 nowhere :/

So far gotten level 10 in all skills and level 17 combat, really grindy because the content to pass intermediate levels is missing, apparently a big update is dropping in a few days so I've been gathering high level resources ready to craft any new recipes to sell on the discord. Been playing an hour or 2 a day for 10 days, the grind is real :/

I would totally play a retro style mmo. Even turn based if it had tons of end game depth. Item rarity chase and good trading systems. I guess OSRS is closest example.

I'm kind of finicky when it comes to starting new mmorpg's. I started with Endless Online which looked slightly similar. Moved to Runescape and I can't see myself joining a game I'll probably love again.

I must say I haven't played anything else since starting this masterpiece great

The graphic is very strong resemblance to Nexus: The Kingdom of the Wind back in 1998

Kinda reminds me of Graal, anyone remember that game? It was an MMO that used Link to the Past assets. I used to play that, RedMoon Online among others back in the day a lot!

Whoa.. NexusTK was my first graphical MMORPG!! I played from 2002-2004! I ended up moving on to Ultima Online but I miss NexusTK and now I look for games that are cross platform and wanted a MMO that was cross platform with Mobile or on Geforce now since I'm on the go a lot so Mobile is a must for me! I was playing Albion Online and loved it for awhile because it was kinda like Ultima Online but it turned out cash grabby and the Moderators and most community was toxic and I want to be a part of a mmo with a cool community and something family friendly. This looks like a better version of NexusTK! I found this game at the same time as another Terraria so imma bout to start playing them both.

I have not tried it yet on the Steam deck, but this game doesn't have controller support. Just mouse and keyboard on PC... so id imagine it will be difficult to play... but ill still check it out.

I would argue the game isnt grindy enough. Needs to be much slower. Most serious players are level 20+ in all life skills and 20-23 in level with multiple alts level 20.

I'm amazed Nexus is still around. I used to play the crud out of that game for the free version. My father would never let me sign up for the pay to play version. So years ago I looked it up, and STILL around. Looks like an RPGmaker online game.

There been a few big game updates, expanding the areas, more quests, enemies, bosses, items and more. They now have cooking and fishing as well. Latest update was yesterday with bug fixes and other QoL improvements. They have been very active with development.
