Another tip for when removing your grapple (or any front hydraulic implement) is connect the two lines together. It equalizes the pressure and keeps the quick connect fittings clean.

I was going to start a health club for the new year called Resolutions. For the first 2 weeks it would be a gym, the rest of the year, it would be a bar. For anyone that has an outside boiler, those cutoffs don't need split. It is too bad you can't find a way to press all that waste into small bales or blocks that could be used in boilers. I know when I burn off my pile after a splitting session. That thing burns for hours and gives off an incredible amount of heat.

Hi Joe. Great video for another aspect of a firewood delivery service. I actually heard the podcast before watching the video. Loving the podcast by the way. A thought for your waste disposal, biomass furnace. We had a field with overgrown Christmas trees. The trees were 40 years old and dying. We have a hospital that converted their steam plant to burn biomass. They harvested the trees and ran them through a tub grinder blowing the clippings into trailers. Didn’t pay much, but the trees were removed. I know of a school district heating their buildings this way too. All that being said, I don’t know if there is anyone heating that way in your area. Maybe they would remove your waste for you for free at the least if you couldn’t sell it. Or a possible heating source for a future kiln? Just my two cents worth until you find a better solution. I wouldn’t want to spend time sorting it either Joe. Those pellet mills can be pto driven. I saw one at a workshop a few years back. They were making pellets out of switch grass. I don’t know if you have county agricultural offices. Penn State does quite a bit through their local ag extension offices out this way. They may have some leads to help you out. Good luck and I know you’ll keep us posted. Thanks to you and your team for another great video. Have a great day 👍🏻!

Hey Joe ! Our town has free drop off for "yard" waste. It eventually becomes mulch , and we can take as much as we need for our gardens. You wouldn't be making any money , but it wouldn't go to waste !!! You could also say that you're helping your community and environment !!! (Very stylish kiddo !)

If you can find someone to take the waste pile for free will be a goal by itself! I would have to be happy with just not paying to get rid of it. If you can find someone to pay you and take it all. I will personally bow down to you as the King of Firewood!!🤴

@ohiowoodburner If anybody can pull off this hat trick off...It is you,Joe! I just don't know about sharing this insider info if it does happen. Everyone will flood your customer, and they will soon be overwhelmed and have no time for you! I have a place called Green Cycle about 10 miles away that will take most any wood/landscaping type waste, and they make/sell mulch. But they charge $30 per dump trailer, which is the same price as our county dump. IDK their rates on semi loads, but I am afraid that you are about to find out!🙄

Hey Joe, yes it is that time of year for resolutions...or not. For this first time around for cleaning up the waste I would get rid of it anyway you can whether pay, give, or charge. Now that it is out of sight and out of mind, come up with a suitable plan to keep it separated and manageable. Or bag it up and give it away to all attendees as door prizes at the next open house🙃

Hi Joe Happy New Year to you and your family. I have been involve deeply into production as well as maintenance but since Im not There to see first hand at the process taking place please take this with a grain of salt. Things I see that would make your life easier. doing away with the tote , and the side conveyer that takes the scrap from under the wedge away to tote. You have that elevated moving open floor that remove more than the first one . Is that first one necessary and can it easily be inactivates and closed off? . 2 Raise up the splitter by placing two pieces of 2x6 cut offs under each tire raising the splitter up 3 inches so your tarp and access is improved , looks like a very tight spot. 3 Not sure about you dragging the log deck, does it have skid plates that its setting on? 3 make Money with your waist, invest in a gas power wood chipper to place under the elevated moving floor so all the scraps feed into it. You can sell the wood chips for 15$ a scoop with your tractor or 2-3$ a five gal bucket load self serving. all so it will decompose faster if stacked up with the tractor and turned over every 3 months. Just some more happy ideas for you to spin around in your head. 😊 Have a productive and prosperous new year

Hey Joe A little suggestion, not from the US but we use the same waste and use a shredder to grind it up that creates perfect bedding for plantin, bedcovering or overall just mulch material for any place needed which you could sell. Selling it as is will make some money but i think if you make a new product out of it the market value will be better. We use a drum chipper with flails we bought used they work better and don't clog up like the rotor chippers.

Other brands that work just as good are Negri Italy, TS Industrie or Timberwolf If you can find something similar with like a drum that has hammers and knifes or just hammers it will work. If you remove the larger strips of wood for kindling, everything else should go through your pto chipper for finer chips to mix with the sawdust. The saddest part of that idea is it would need to be fed manually. But once it was chipped and mixed you would be able to use the tractor bucket to turn the pile(s) to help the composting. A landscape yard that processes wood waste would take all of that pile in a moment. They run it through grinders and resell it as mulch for beds. That's an easy solution. You might also work a deal with a wood processing facility. I have seen places where they bring a roll off onto the yard, pick up an old one this full leave an empty one. They just keep rotating as the bins fill. This too is an easy solution

@@ohiowoodburner I have a yard one mile away from me. They take any and all, trailer load of wood, stumps, brush, ... whatever. It goes through a grinder, mixed with hardwood mulch and sold out. The roll-off might require bigger volume. One yard I buy products from does no processing, only reloads the wood products brought to the yard into 45 cu yd rolloff.

You should put a grader box on the back of your tractor instead of the ballast box. It would provide ballast and be usefull at the same time. You can push, drag, and level with it. That's what I use for ballast on my tractor unless I'm using another implement and it works good. A 5 or 6 foot grader box weights 400 to 600 pounds.

You can sell the waste by the 5 gal bucket to people. Put piles outside the gate with a game camera and a drop box and venmo etc payment selection like a roadside stand. People want the dust as mulch and compost and the bigger chips on up as kindling and burning in the small rings and pits wether ground or those table top ones.

I dont think it would work with all the bigger waste pieces. Youd probably need to run it through a shredder, however the sawdust tou could definitely make compost with it. You just need some grass clippings. If you want to burn it, a rocket stove would help. You could heat your new office building with it
