To beat the dead horse one more time. A foot pedal operated ram should be an option. and It should work from either side of the machine. Make it for $225.00, charge $425.00 for it. I bought a big huge gigantic All Wood Musclewood splitter last year. And sure it's nice and all, but it's more splitter then I really needed. These smaller splitters with the fast cycle times and a log lift are all anyone really needs. I would argue that the adjustable wedge is an absolute must, but I'm sure if I didn't have one I could get along just fine. What I'm trying to say is place that order and you'll be smiling a whole lot more when you get it!

If cycle time is more important to you, cosider the Super Split twin made by John Yoder of Big Prairie, OH. His makes splits in 1.9 seconds. Way faster than one man (or woman), wear out two grown men (or women) in about half the day, keep 3 men (or women) workin' pretty good all day! The one John loaned to his BIL, kept 2 busy, pacing themselves, for 8+ hrs., and split, I think, (I wasn't there, repeating what his BIL told me.) 12 full cords! Who knows, maybe half again that much resplitting? Maybe twice! At the last I knew, he was selling them for less than $3k! As for road speed, you can tote them behind your team of Clydesdales up to 80+ mph, or as fast as a team of ponies can carry it!! It's just amazing fast in the bed of a pickup!!! The only rub is that he doesn't have a 4way or 17way splitting wedge. No big powerful diesel or trbine jet options, only the 5 (or6?) hp Honda.

When I was in the market I did look at them and if my memory is correct they where about the same as my Eastonmade Ultra but I did not like the flywheel design for hard to split knotty wood and the must keep clean parts for use.

I purchased a semi pro about a year ago, been a fantastic machine except one thing, the hydraulic pump. 1st one leaked and I called and they sent another right away, I installed it and the new one leaks just as bad, I called and they said they'd send a 3rd one but I never followed up with them, put it away in the fall after finishing up for the season and haven't gotten it out yet. Will probably call this week and see if their offer is still good. It also constantly blows hydraulic oil out the breather/fill cap so its always a mess. Mine also doesn't have any wear material on the pusher but I drilled and tapped it for grease fittings so we will see how much that helps

My Wolfe Ridge 28C with magnum package is 6.5sec cycle-time. Is all the faster I care to work. Auto-cycle, log lift, and oil cooler.
