Interesting to hear your history in the hobby. Amazing how kids can write all these home grown rules for their toys.

Can totally relate to playing toy soldiers in a sand pit as kids mate. Great memories. And it’s amazing you still have those 54mm soldiers. Great to hear your personal story and thanks to your amazing mother you got into fantasy gaming. Take care mate

I've never seen a community where you can create a KZread channel to interact more. I come from video games a bit, where channels are used to show off gameplay and to get money. Here it's just simple interaction, just to get involved in the hobby. I suppose maybe I should so that I can stay motivated in my projects.

I would love to know how many of my plastic soldiers got chopped up by my dad's lawnmower. You and I have a similar gaming background. About 15 years ago I was laid up with knee surgery and was researching Civil War ironclads just because. I came across a link that had a game played with them in 1/600 scale. One thing led to another and I saw various wargames and remember thinking 'Wow. People play games with this stuff with rules and dice on table tops. Not outside and no dirt bombs or rocks thrown. Amazing.". My first game was WW2 using Disposable Heroes and 28mm. Now I only do 20mm to save a bit of space, both storage and tabletop, and still mostly WW2.

This hobby just allows us to continue to play with toys as adults lol! I totally can see using 20mm to save space and money. When I started in the hobby, I was only aware of 25-28mm, so that is what my entire collection is. Once you start in a scale, it seems easier/cheaper to stick with it. Thanks for the comment!
