I Almost Returned to WWE. Here's What Happened.

Over a decade after I got fired from WWE, I tried to make a comeback. It almost happened, too. In this video, I share what went wrong.

You're killin it on here, brother! As for the announcing gig? Their current voices are one of the (many) reasons I find the product unwatchable. Over-annunciated phrases (see: Kevin Patrick), Wade Baritone...I'd rather hear (and see) you on this forum, than a glossed-over WWE production! Keep it up!

I do remember leaving a comment of this kind on one of your previous videos because at this point in time I see you fitting very well in a role of this sorts such as interviewer, commentator, manager. A one time Royal Rumble return to WWE after 18 years with your beloved theme song would also be amazing.

They’re aware of it and are probably going to want a part of that at some point. Because how many lapsed fans are subscribed to this channel that might check out NXT when maven is on it and the next thing you know they’re watching Raw and Smackdown every week

@@AaronK-ef8yv Hate to break it to you, but they're not relying on him to "revitalise" the company. Lmfao. The product is bigger than ever. They have major PLE's happening in France and Germany for the first time ever next year. They're doing 50,000 person shows in Saudi Arabia ffs. Don't get me wrong, the quality and passion of the Attitude Era will never be matched, the quality is severely diluted, but they wouldn't be hiring Maven to save them. He'd be a small piece of a puzzle that has over 1,000 pieces, likely on their developmental brand. And not quite a "nobody." He cracked the KZread algorithm like nobody I've ever seen in wrestling. You're here hate-watching. Maven has value as a trainer/commentator in NXT. He basically won an NXT equivalent contest in 2001, and he's someone they can look up to because he had to work to get into the company, like every single person in NXT. Nothing was given, not the least of which respect in the locker room.

What sets you apart is the fact that you seem like the every day guy that anybody can go out and have a beer with and enjoy an evening. As opposed to a lot of people in show business, that act as if they are on the top of Mount Rushmore and are untouchable. As somebody, myself, who’s been in entertainment pretty much all of his life… Acting, comedy, music, and even professional wrestling.. there’s nothing worse than somebody who reaches that brass ring and then treats people around them as if they are lesser than. Forgetting where they came from and how quickly it all could end and they could be back to the life they had before they reached their dream. So thank you for being you. A toast to you and all of the continued success in your life and career, in the new year. Be safe and well.

I know exactly how you feel Maven. I graduated college in may of 2020, but already had an internship for a software/finance company in LA scheduled after graduation, but then got a call from the recruiter that they were cancelling it due to the pandemic. I was desperate for a job then, and luckily am in a much better spot now, but man getting that call freakin sucked man.

God damn, Maven I'm so sorry about the timing that happened to you. I can absolutely relate to that, my job at the time was going on the up and up was ready to get into a senior role within my team and then Covid hit. Would have been late Feb, early March here in Australia. Basically everybody got stood down, few got working from home opportunities. I was eventually let go after a prolonged period and am still feeling the sting of that. I genuinely hope you're doing well in your personal life, and can't thank you enough for your amazing insight into the business - as you said, your current opportunity. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see you on camera again with WWE. On that note though, would you consider making a video centered around your work and life experience during Covid? Every area, business and every country was different. Would be an interesting insight into your life during that period. Thanks Maven.

There definitely is room in the wrestling business for Mavens voice and level headed approach be it on screen or behind the scenes, good evidence for it is just the short time it took for this channel to get as popular as it got, and simply his no nonsense bright attitude and ability to take responsibility. Could totally see Maven having a role in NXT.
