The thing about axolotls is that they are both very sensitive and somehow simultaneously tough to kill. So yeah, it's VERY easy for them to get sick, but somehow they will endure that sickness for a bewildering amount of time and can recover fully from the most serious of stuff. I had an axolotl once that had fungus SO bad, it was all over, he was floating and not moving. Somehow, he fully recovered after being medicated. It was insane. If your axolotl is sick, don't give up on it unless it's dead. There is a VERY good chance it can fully recover no matter HOW sick it is.

You aren't a wimp for crying about this, she is your pet, you have had her since she was a baby. You care about her a lot, you care about all your animals like they are your children. So it is not wrong to cry when one of your pet is sick and might die.

(Your Cheese) I've started to worry because a lot of your fans might try to buy one without really researching them at all. I know they are extremely difficult to look after and not suitable for beginners or the seemingly large amount of kids that watch your video. Some people don't even realise there are saltwater and freshwater fish, and most don't know anything about the tanks, mixing fish or corals. If you do this, please title the video something along the lines of "Why you shouldn't buy Boxfish or Cowfish" or "The problems with Cowfish" or "Before you think about buying Cowfish..." Thanks.

Taylor I am very proud of you taking the responsibility and then curing your animal! It reminds me of a time my leopard gecko (who I got from a breeder who had never fed her crickets) had mouth rot (VERY BAD MOUTH ROT) and I didn't notice it for MONTHS. After rubbing her gums with betadine she got better. I felt SOOOO bad about it! Don't worry Taylor it happens!!!

Thank you for owning your mistakes in not having the proper husbandry and not noticing your animal was sick for almost 50 days. No one is perfect 100 percent but you stepped up to the plate and showed what not to do and how to have better care and how to fix it. I never want any of your animals to get sick especially those ones who can’t really tell you when they are. But thank you for showing us what not to do and in case it does happen to our axolotl’s how to fix it. I hope you don’t feel too guilty for making your pets sick and not knowing about it for such a long time but as soon as you did figure it out you want the extra mile to save it instead of just letting it die. That’s a good mother. Thanks Tay!

Taylor I honestly have so much respect for you, to own up to almost killing an animal but immediately taking action to save them takes a lot.

Thankyou for making this video! I’m researching Axolotls because I think I’m gonna get one and I watched one of your older videos and I wrote down to use Fluval for filter so I’m glad I watched this video and know to get a sponge filter instead

My axolotl had the exact same problem about two months ago, he wasn't eating for like.. 4 weeks, I was super afraid. Freaking fungus and summer weather making his water warmer. He is totally fine now, eating like a champ, swimming around, I was sure I would lose him. I totally understand your emotions :P Tis first bite of food filled me with so much hope ^^ awesome video!

I am just like you with animals, I have leopard geckos and they have both been sick in the past, each time I have tried my best to cure them and when it wouldn't work I'd go to the vet. ( Going to the vet when you're a full- time working 19yr old living by themselves is hard) I did NOT have extra 300$ around. Anyways.. I just want to say that I know the feeling of wanting to help every animal and pet you see, and how sad it is when they get sick. You're an amazing , super sweet and super dedicated to your animals and I applaud you for it!!!!!!!

Could you do a leopard gecko care video? I have two 3 year old females bit as of right now I'm not sure I'm doing a good job with them. I feed them 8 mealworms every other day. I tried with crickets at first but they are terrified of them. I'm not sure if I'm feeding them to much or too little. I try my best to take good care of them. I would never purposely hurt them, I'm just more skilled with mammal care rather than reptile care.

I have had over 100 axolotls at one time and I can't tell you how informative this video is, thank you so much for putting this out there for other future and current owners because I had this issue and had so much trouble finding actual information, let alone a demonstration

Something similar happened to my guy and he died at about a year :( It was super sad. Glad you saved your baby tho. And it's comforting that everybody makes mistakes and can still learn from them

I watch for both reasons, I’m planning to get an axolotl, and I love my Taylor bae 😍

I respect how much you care about your animals!

My beautiful girls xena & mischka passed away this morning, the pet store I got them from knew NOTHING about them & I bought them with a fungus. it's actually illegal to sell & own axies in my state so a vet was out of the question. My heart aches today so watching this video made me happier knowing you could save your baby ❤️
