This guy is the reason One Piece broke the manga live action curse... He is so pure and full of positive energy... I started the first episode last week thinking it would be as bad as the previous adaptations of others.. But as soon as he did the first 'gum gum... Pistol'... I was hooked and finished the show in 2 days

I almost cried when he said ‘you are luffy’ like bro. I’m so glad I watched this 😭😭 iñaki is the perfect person to play luffy!

It’s nice to see an actor actually care and put in the effort to learn more about the source material and characters they play. That’s how you know Iñaki is going to give it his all for the show ❤️

No matter how this adaption goes, inaki has already proven he's the right person to play Monkey D Luffy. His personality is almost an exact match. I wish him the best in his journey

Turns out it’s a very good adaptation. His casting as monkey D luffy is spot on.

its so amazing to see that this anime touches so many people and i never expected people younger than me(Im 29) iike inaki not just to like it but also go as far as play the character and try to portray him in a live action series none the less.I really hope from the bottom of my heart for this live adaption to suceed and not flop like so many more released before it.If it doesnt fail i(and i believe many others) will be so freaking happy.

The directing will also be important. That Last Airbender movie had great casting for Aang, a joyful little boy, but then M.Night Shyamalan directed everyone to be much more serious then their cartoon counterpart as he treated the movie like a historical fantasy epic, when it was supposed to be a joyful adventure.

It got Henry Cavill as the lead who loved the game even before being casted and then get into the books after he's casted, a guy with genuine love for his character and series. But the writing and directing of it is mediocre at best and it follows neither the game nor the books. It has almost every ingredient to be a cult classic and is ruined by awful directing decisions.

I just finished the LA series (I know super late) but I had to comment that this young man gave such a stellar performance. I had never really interacted with One Piece before the Neftlix series (and I'm not super into anime) but this guy and his castmates were so damn likeable as their characters it made me love the show. Godoy gives off so much infectious enthusiasm as Luffy that it's unreal on the screen. Hats off!
