I love that they talked about how Oda told them they had to tone it down and voice their characters more humanely for the dub it was something I was wondering. Also love how they are aware of the absurdities of the anime like how someone keeps getting injured and walks it off in the anime but u can't do that in live action. I could listen to them for hours. It's an actual family they hv going here

It shows that Oda is naturally a business person. He knows how to sell his franchise and even gives his full story board to TOEI where the anime adds scenes Oda wanted to add to the manga but couldn't.

Dubbing actors is diferent of Dubbing animated characters, the animation is more sureal and fantastic than real humans actions, thats why the tone is lower and less "hyperactive" 😊

I can't get over Luffy's voice. It is the best voice in anime. Fits the character so well!

Love how they actually felt the same as us in terms of the design choices of the LA. Like how they talked about Usopp having no long nose but it still felt so right, Mihawk's design being not over the top but its still perfect and the Den-Den Mushi's realistic design creeping them out lol

Agreed with the Mihawk comment. I saw a Mihawk cosplay last year which the guy had too much makeup on and looked fake and made of plastic, I'm glad they realised how to adapt the costumes and makeup.

I never watched the anime but even I was impressed when I learned that the Japanese dub VAs were the OG VAs themselves.

この５人多分一生好きだわ グランドライン組？イーストブルー組っていうのかな？ 10人大事な仲間だけど、この5人は特に、特別な絆で素敵な関係性だよね

Now I want to re-watch the live action in Japanese just to have the original crew's voices attached to the characters again. I love the new cast for the live action, of course, but the original straw hats will forever have a place in my heart. It was so nice to watch their interactions, and I love how Mayumi Tanaka commented on Arlong's teeth, lol. It was such a Luffy reaction. 🖤

I'm a french Canadian and they are legend for me too. It's beautiful how the One Piece community break the language wall like never before. So even if the work is still on going, the are no reason to remplace them except health issue (wich I hope never happen)

It's mind blowing how these voice actors have given the ultimate justice to all the characters. I always imagined the voice actors to be much younger with all the enthusiasm. To know that all of them are older than what I imagined I am seriously blown away. One piece is a thoughtfully curated masterpiece.

Originally they were a lot younger. 24 years is almost long enough to retire with a full pension in some jobs.

あーこの5人いいな。 船長が自由だけど要所要所でまとめて、平田さんがボケ倒して、岡村さんがしっかりツッコんで、勝平さんが軌道修正して、中井さんは遠慮がちに一歩引いてるんだけどすごく楽しそうで。 ずっと見てたい。

I just love how sweet and encouraging they are to all the actors. Lesser actors would feel threaten or criticize but they are so genuinely impressed and complementary. They are top-tier professionals ❤

In their case, they have been involved with it for over twenty years, so it’s a big thing for them. Lasting memories and friendships, even having to see fellow cast members passing on during the lengthy run and being hit as hard as the fans when beloved characters die. There is no way anyone would be able to endure working on something they hated for such a long time.

I rewatched the season to hear the Japanese actors. The American actors were excellent, but to someone who has been watching the show religiously since the 2000s it was another treat to hear the original voice actors. Love that they brought back the originals for the Japanese audio

I love how they share respect for everyone,all the new actors and also Oda Sensei.

This is so precious. As a fan for the last 10 years, I can't help but feel ecstatic by the amount of love and attention One Piece has gained in the last year. 落ち着いた感じって言う通りで、ちゃんと実写感も表しているところがすごいわ

ちゃんと大谷さん、山口さん、矢尾さん、チョーさん、宝亀さん揃うまで実写頼むよ！！

アニメの吹き替えと実写の吹き替えは全然違うだろうなーと容易に想像がつく。素晴らしい。

続編でクロコダイルが出るなら楽しみだな 外国の俳優が演じたらめちゃくちゃカッコ良さそう

本当にこの五人面白い・・・いい感じで本音もいってくれてとてもよかったです。

この5人の神様女神様がたがこれからも末永く麦わらの一味を演じられますように。 それを心から願っています。吹き替えも最高でした。 全話を一日で見終わった者です。

この5人が揃って仲良くお話ししてると、やはり長い間一緒にいたからなんだなと感じるし、ボケやツッコミもたくさん交えられていて安心して観てられます♡ONE PIECE大好きになってよかったなと思います♡

吹き替え用の演技あんまり聞かない人もいるから新鮮でいい。プロってすげえ。

2:31 there is no greater knowledge than the fact that the voice actor for a character they've been voicing for more than a decade saying that you are the perfect actor for that character. i seriously cannot even imagine a higher honor in an acting career.

Heck, not even a decade, it's been almost 25 years! That's a quarter of a century; they've been at this for so long that they live and breathe these characters in every sense of the word. They know this material inside and out. So for them to be saying that truly is a massive honor, like you said, because they've lived with these characters for almost 3 decades. I can't even imagine the pressure the netflix straw hats must've been under to represent this work, the original Seiyuus saying this about them must've been a massive weight off their shoulders (that and praise from Oda himself!)

luffy giving his strawhat to nami is one of the best scene in history of anime, this scene alone make me continued watching this series till this day... what a tear-jerking moment

実写を見た後ワンピースを知らなかった子どもがアニメを1から見始めたので、ついて一緒に見ています。世間とだいぶ遅れていますが親子で麦わら一味の大ファンです。明日も続き見ようね♪と仕事から帰るのが毎日楽しみ。本当にありがとうございます。

海外の予告編見たあと、このアニメの声優さん達がやるってのも聞いて、嬉しい半面大丈夫か？てのと、脳内ではどう考えても違和感しかなかったけど、実際吹き替えみたら流石すぎて鳥肌たった

It's so cool seeing them dub iconic scenes from 20 years ago into a modernized live action version. Oda must be SO proud!

They're so adorable! I feel like they'd be easy to be friends with. It was especially fun to see how close they are to each other. If you're going to be stuck working with someone for so long, it's great to be stuck with a friend.

When the original voices came back to do this version you know you are about to have a hit. I am definitely doing a second watch with there voices. I already switched it up for a few scenes but time to go all the way.

It's so wholesome like i forget sometimes how old the VA's are. It's honestly so cute seeing them all interact.

The original voice cast gave this show a genuine touch. The live action is great, but I always feel like something was missing, and now I know it’s their voice.

I haven't really watched OP live action dubbed but it gives me goosebumps, now hearing the seemingly disjointed (but it feels so right) super lively and animated voices from the more realistic live action. Japanese VAs really are something else and I'm super thankful for their existence!! Wow.

Its so refreshing to know that even the VA has a say about the script to make it not only convenient for everyone, but also stay true to the characters they've brought to life. ♥️

Kazuya's voice 💪 is the best Zoro from any other dub! Gigantic respect for Mayumi for be Luffy for 1100 episodes of the Best Anime series!! happy for all team now are in Live action 📽️

I love that the 'repeating 3 times', basically saying it to himself more than anything might be a more Western/English expression than in Japanese. I wonder, it was great. Kind of like when we get cultural expressions in Anime that are entirely Japanese and it's fascinating: What is natural in another language or culture.
