I struggle to continue to be a fan of hers. She knows that NFTs are extremely controversial and has done damage to the environment but still does it for the money anyway (and says that art should be free for anyone...). I love her music but the things she defends makes it hard to still appreciate what she does. Edit: I don't listen to Grimes as much as before, and she is 100% devoted to AI now. Don't try to reply to a year old comment, people. I won't answer.

I've heard that she's been heavily into drugs for many years now (except for during her pregnancy, of course). That's what Popbitch said, and they've never been wrong about anything they've said about various celebrities down through the years. Drugs (most likely stimulants, like amphetamine) would explain Grimes' chaotic, frenetic and erratic personality. Talking a million miles a minute is synonymous with speed use.

She commented on the environmental downsides to NFTS and moved on quickly. I'm just commenting on how it's so transparent how she "cares" about the environment when we all know that celebrities are the most self-interested people on this planet and their environmental activism is completely performative. She also likes to pretend that she's this inspiring "rags to riches" story when she grew up in one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in Vancouver. Grimes. Real, unscripted, relaxed, nonchalant and 100% chill during the entire interview. Grimes and BP seem give the most genuine and unscripted interviews. Many seem like robots or parrots with a rehearsed script. It is refreshing to find someone just being themselves in the industry, and having a fun dialogue without pushing politics or other "woke" bs. "Shinigami Eyes" my favorite video and song. The first time I heard it, I had it on repeat for over an hour. The music, tempo, stage, wardrobe, her voice, everything is absolutely perfect, imo.

Yeah, that whole part was weird. I think she meant "free" as in that its digital and has a value in the crypto-world. I'm not into NFTs, but I did look into it. In some ways, it was like a revival of art on a digital renaissance sort of level- lots of good and lots of bad art, AI art, and lots of art programs designed to make NFTs for avatars. On a digital art scale, artwork that wouldn't sell suddenly had this incentive that cryptocurrency put behind it. Everyone into it felt like they needed to collect them. In that way, sure, it had some freedom to it. Unfortunately, its the materialism behind the crypto/NFT culture that makes just okay artwork done by a celebrity worth millions of dollars in crypto. The only people that really bank off of any of it are celebrities. I think it'll all die down soon. Maybe people will learn to paint again. lol

I mean, you didn't really get canceled, if you're doing this interview and still have a career.

Celebs love talking ab being "cancelled" like its some trendy sht. Because they can't stand to be criticized or to realize not everyone of us is gonna oblige to them like their friend groups. An artist would know best, not to act so "pick me".

She’s so down to earth and chill, I for sure appreciate her music and art.

Ugh this is why gaga marina and grimes are my favourites they are all so amazing

You’ll learn when you become a parent, when you pick a name that feels right to both of you, it’ll fit with the person the kid is. Just the intuition of being the one(s) that created them
