I got to experience this route twice over the past week, and it was such a blast! The snowfall made the drive extremely pleasant, as well as seeing some rare mountain fog. It's a toss-up between experiencing the brightness of summer or the snow coating the mountains!

You never know how good things really are, until you visit somewhere else that doesn't have such majestic geological wonders, like what one will see, when visiting the High Sierra. Thanks for stopping by and watching. :-)

Awesome video! I was trying to record it too! The road construction was really bad and the traffic was backed up in both directions. They split the Eastbound lanes into two parts near Emigrant Gap. They had one lane was used for trucks and buses that followed the eastbound lanes and the other lane, that was for cars, was moved onto the westbound lanes. The whole thing was a mess!!! I cant wait to return there next summer and record it if its finished! Cant wait to see your Donner Summit video!

This looks incredibly tempting to drive. Now the question is should I take US-395 or I-80 to Reno. Eric Schaat's Bakkery or this beautiful stretch.

I hardly even remember this road since I last traveled it in 2002! That is such an awesome ride, much improved over your first video coverage of it. Are you covering it out to Reno? Definitely another ride to pencil into my future log. Thanks for presenting!
