I-70 Colorado Glenwood Canyon

Video provides footage of I-70 through Glenwood canyon . Beginning construction in 1980, this is without a doubt a 20th century engineering marvel due to the elements and surprises CDOT overtook in 12 years, designing, and making the final link of interstate 70. The following video pays respect to the 20th anniversary.

(Part 1 of 2): This was a top-notch production, for a top-notch stretch of Interstate...and not just top-notch, but *THE* most spectacular stretch of Interstate, and one of the world's greatest civil engineering projects that mankind has ever constructed. I actually like the fact that you didn't speed the footage up too much, allowing viewers like me to really take in the "magnificence of the canyon." I remember the first time I had heard/read about...(Comment continued in Part 2)

(Part 2 of 2)...about I-70 thru Glenwood Canyon, a good dozen years ago, and was literally in awe of the pictures. Finally got to drive it in 2006, and the billing of the phrase attached to this stretch of I-70 as the "Crown Jewel of the Interstate Highway System" is not hyperbole or an overstatement by any means. Great photos, great facts, great execution...simply your best video to date. Favorited and this will be going on my FreewayBrent Facebook fan page. Thanks a lot for this!

I bet this is even more spectacular in the winter. I thought it was interesting with all the environmental items being shown, you were behind a Prius.

Awesome piece of work! I love the wealth of information presented here and the scenic ride. No doubt when I eventually explore this, I'll probably need someone else to drive the first time so I can take in everything, then drive it again!

I'm not quite sure since when we have it, just that it also quite some time ago, and of course since then has constantly upgraded etc. By the time we got sensors every 4 km / 2.5 mi on every highway

You mentioned the ATFMS as a first of its kind tecnology - since when do they have it? Cause here in Germany we have those systems all over the country on every single highway (Autobahn), monitoring the flow of traffic, speed, car distance, vehicle size, rain, fog, air and road temperature etc., and also controls dynamic traffic signs etc
