My grandparents lived in Canyon. Spent every Christmas for about 15 years there! My grandpa would take me and my cousins into the canyon, it was an amazing adventure each time! I miss him every day! Not far from Canyon, Texas is Dalhart, Texas, I have family there as well and there is a fairly large canyon there too! Seeing this brings back some amazing childhood memories!!! Thanks! ~F.J.G.

There is something near Dalhart we used to call the "canyon" as kids. We'd play in it and didn't even realize it was tresspassing.

@@beckynorris4366 Got family there too, we played in that "canyon" as well, lots of good memories but was probably more dangerous than we realized!!

My wife and I drove through Amarillo twice on vacation (in the early 90s) and while I saw the name on the map, we didn't have a clue that something so magnificent was only a few miles to the south of us! My wife was flabbergasted at the scenery on the video, when she realized where the canyon was at! (Good job!)

I wonder if they let people slide down the "Devil's Slide? " When I went there as a kid in the seventies, that was the highlight of any visit.

I believe the 130 degree temperature remark is a bit of a "tall tale". The highest temperatures recorded in Texas were in Seymour (in August 1936) and Monahans (in June 1944), with both reaching 120 F.

People calling it "North Texas".. Geographically true, but they call DFW north Texas, and that area just the Panhandle..

I live in Austin, a very long way from the canyon. Although I've always heard of it, I didn't know it was so long and so scenic. Will have to visit soon. It reminds me of the area around Kanab, Utah.

I like your videos, but the music is a minus! I'd scrap it completely and go with voice narration instead of the incessant reading (especially on the Colorado I 70 videos).
