I think financial documentation of support and travel to see your spouse is helpful... A summary of ALL expenses and support should be included... Because at the next step, new regulations are going to require you to show financial support and proof of ability to support once the Visa is granted.

we just went thru this process and the best advice is get a carry on size suitcase and fill it up with documents when they see you walk in to the interview whit that much evidence they will just ask you for the basics only . joint taxes very important , pictures with relatives, joint living conditions either or own or rent and packages you had bought on like bring in the shipping labels make sure you have both names on your account joint and single bank account we have both . Fill that suit case up ha ha ha it will help alot with the interview . we did it without councel but i would sugest if you are not comfortable get a active lawyer not someone who is not involved with the USCIS Daily

Good video, but I have some observations: Most of the documents you talked about are for Removing of Conditions (form I-751) but not for I-130. The reason is that, without SS number you can't have any insurance, some banks will not allow you to have Joint bank accounts, Joint tax returns, you can't be on Lease, etc. You need to have your initial case (I-130. I-485 approved) or Work authorization, then you can apply for all those documents you talked about. So you see, the documents you referred to are for filing I-751 not for I-130.

We filed two letters from our friends (one of them is a US citizen, hers was notarized & we included copy of her ID, the other friend is Russian and her letter isn't notarized but we still included it just in case as well as the copy of her ID), scans of mail that came to our joint address (for example, letter from city hall with our marriage certificate inside with both our names on the envelope), bank statement + transactions (our joint account is just a month old but we're using it actively and planning to do so in the future, so we thought we should show it), lease (it's in my name only as we moved in together just a couple months ago, but at least it shows this particular address is indeed where we live), pictures of us together (I took screenshots on my phone that show the date when it was taken and just printed 4 on one page), and also screenshots of our instagram posts with each other and our friends (to show we're actively engaged in each other's social lives). Another thing we included in the package is mail from family and friends, my husband has a big family and many of them were sending cards after we got married / Easter cards / happy bday cards, etc. So even though we got married less than 2 months ago and basically don't really own anything together, we truly love each other and if it's the case for you it's totally possible to assemble some convincing package to prove it

In relation to your point about getting affidavits from family and friends who know you as a couple, at the 5:27 mark you say "That person should be a US citizen or resident." I have a current (March 2019) RFE letter from USCIS wherein under a section headed "Affidavits," the letter states "The persons making the affidavits may be relatives and need not be citizens of the United States."

I was outland so you can do the same get your spouse name on your lease or rent, my bank account and mother in law visit was late but we made it possible you can get a screenshot photo of conversation with your spouse if traveling is not possible. My process is for Canada but most cases are different but required almost the same documents. Another thing for outland is to practice for the interview and even though as I say all cases are indeed different. My niece was different than mines most definitely because she got through fiance sponsorship to the USA also my schoolmate was so different than me she went their through marriage. Just have proof that you are indeed a couple and have your life in order also.

My soon to be husband and I are 67. Both are retired. I own a house outright from my last marriage that ended in the death of my spouse. We have not comingled our finances due to us both having pensions, and I also have SS with Survivor Benefits. We plan on having a pre-nup agreement as each of us has grown children from our previous marriages. We are marrying with in a few months of meeting, but the marriage will be legal and real. What can we do to prove our relationship/marriage? Is the fact that neither of us has "Earned Income" going to be a problem to prove financial stability? Everything we have read presumes the couple is much younger and going to start a family.

Be careful fining taxes together. If your spouse has a tax liability filing taxes together now means that his or her liability is now your responsibility. Say for example your new spouse owes the IRS $80,000. That also becomes your debt when you file joint returns. My American spouse owed $60,000. I filed separate return. But when I was asked at the interview as to why, I told them he has high tax liability that I didn’t want to become my liability. I provided proof of the liability and his payment plan. ( I am a tax accountant and made them aware so they know I know the rules) They didn’t ask me anymore questions on it.

My husband and I married in the states and he had to get permission from his country's government before we could. After we married, we registered our marriage in his country ( where I lived for 3 years). We have the letter from government saying we are registered. Now I'm living in the states with our daughter and I'm working on all the evidence to prove our marriage is real. Can I use his country's permission for marriage and approval of our marriage as proof for our case?

Hi, my mom in law (US Citizen) has sponsored my wife (Indian citizen) for a green card by filing the form I 130 petition for alien relative back in 2014. She received the I 797 informing her of the approval and the next steps. My wife however has moved from the international address in Singapore provided back in 2014 and need to update her new address in Singapore to be able to receive all the communications from NVC. Please advise how could she change her international address? Thank you

Can you talk about I-1129F for K3 and K4 visas? Just wanna make sure what I did was right. I'm a USC and Married for 8 yrs. My spouse and two children are 5 & 2 yrs old, and I'm the biological father. They're all living abroad. Three I-130's already filed then filed one I-129F after receiving three I-797C. All forms were filed within the last 30 days. Also, are we allowed to choose which service center you want your forms to be processed or it's based on geographically whichever closest to your location? Thank you.

Hello. I hope someone could lead me towards the right path. My sister's husband married her so he could come to the usa. Shes a usa citizen but currently living abroad and waiting for her husband to get a job and buy an apartment etc..... now she needs him but hes sort of backing off. They have been married for 3 years. And the number 1 biggest problem is that she was sort of a special child. Now an adult btw. If she was 100% normal, this wouldn't be happening. So he basically used her. Is there anyway he can be deported?
