Thyroid hormones are essential for our body. They regulate our basal metabolic rate, our energy balance, our mood, heat generation and much more. It can cause a number of symptoms, such as poor ability to tolerate cold, a feeling of tiredness, constipation, slow heart rate, depression, and weight gain. Hypothyroidism is so common that almost 5 people out of 100 suffer from it. The majority of the patients are females as they have higher chances of developing autoimmune diseases and hypothyroidism is also a type of “autoimmune disease”.Hypothyroidism can be a tricky condition to manage, and what you eat can interfere with your treatment.

I just had my tsh levels checked since eating more broccoli and tofu for the last few months due to gallbladder problems. My numbers went way up 😞🤦. I suspected that was why my hashimotos symptoms have been going crazy, but was hoping I was wrong. My temperature has been running low, but I'll feel like I have a fever, fast pulse rate, hair loss, brain fog, and now can see goiter in neck near thyroid, puffy under eyes, having more mood swings and aniexty, body aches, increase in neuropathy symptoms. I can't take levothyroxine because it makes me feel worse. So I'm going back to keto diet and trying some kind of digestive enzymes to help break down the protein for my gallbladder and pancreas. Take care everyone.. I thought it was just hormones because I'm almost 52 and thought it was menopause. I'm very happy I watched this video. Thank you ☺️ and yes diet changes and some supplements can help because my levels 8 months ago were just slightly over the limit at 3.8 and now it's almost 8. I had only been doing low carb for a short time also and then stopped because of carb addictions 🤦🤷. So I'm going to try again and get better soon 🙏🙌🙌. I don't want to sound like Gilda Radner's character Rosanna danna from old Saturday night live shows LoL 😂. Give me a thumbs up if anyone knows what I'm talking about 😂🤣

I am so tired and also experience mood swings but I have psoriatic arthritis and Crohn’s disease and keep my energy up I trained and running and I can’t eat very healthy so I’ve been eating a lot of spinach and raw broccoli raw onions raw almonds and it seems like I’ve gotten worse in the past two weeks just cold all the time exhausted constipation. I’m starting to think the things that I’m eating, while they’re healthy for most people, they are really making my hypothyroidism worse. I’m not on any medication for hypothyroidism but I was told many years ago that I had it but I didn’t want to go on medication that I would have to take for the rest of my life. It's so frustrating and confusing when doctors tell you what you can't eat , why not just tell you what you can eat. My husband is a heart patient and diabetic and has kidney stone issues. The heart and diabetic diets are similar but the kidney diet conflicts with his other issues so needless to say I'm pulling my hair out trying to fix healthy meals that don't counteract one another . Now my thyroid is on the blink so I'm what the h Do I do lol. My needs are different from his . It's a headache......He now is enrolled with a dietitian for his issues .....now about me ... whatever lol....I have all the issues of the hypothyroidism. The aches and pains are hardest to deal with. Some days I can barely move . I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis but the doctor says it's also the thyroid causing the problems. Im always cold even in the summer time. I'm always tired and no matter what I do I can not loose weight ( I'm fat lol, ) I have a lot of hair to loose but I am loosing hair . All the symptoms in itself is enough to say depression is in there too. But I've been depressed for so long I usually just ignore everything. When you have lost a child to cancer everything else just doesn't seem to be important . You just survive day by day . My child has been gone for over 30 years but every Christmas is a reminder of her birthday. Regardless of all the pain , I feel blessed to have had her in my life . Life is still beautiful and if you are still on this earth , it's for a reason . I will see her again , I believe that. Now I didn't mean to share so much , but anyways my message is never give up hope . You just might be a light for someone else. These past years have been hard on everyone and I pray everyone finds peace and healing on their journey.

Hello everyone.. let me share my experience with thyroid. I used to have TSH of 21 etc and took thyroxin for 6 months and then stopped it. Now, after 2 and half years, my thyroid is normal. 2 big changes I made was 1) I switched from iodised salt to non iodised Himalayan pink salt and 2) I started drinking unboiled well water. Also, I feel less tension nowadays which may also have helped. Please try this method.. it doesn't cost anything. Also, enforce daily yoga for your kids to keep them off all diseases.

I have hypothyroidism and iodine intake makes me feel very sick! The nurse at my doctors office told me to eat Himalayan salt without iodine in it and to avoid iodine intake. I noticed that eating shrimp also made me very sick and 2 different times after eating shrimp I had trouble breathing in the night! It was very scary! Come to find out, shrimp contains a lot of iodine! I don't think I will be eating that much anymore if any! I have a valve in the left side of my heart that doesn't work correctly and my heart doctor suggested that I increase my sodium (salt) intake because salt causes your heart to retain more fluid, which in my case is what I need. (The doctor will generally tell someone with a heart issue to steer clear of salt, so be sure to get the advice from your own physician as to whether or not you are to have salt in your diet, as we are all very different) I told my cardiologist- no I cannot eat salt! He said let me guess- you have thyroid issues? I said yes, and he said the iodine gives you problems then? I said yes very much so! He said to eat salt without iodine then. I don't understand why so many of these things that are talking about hypothyroidism seem to say that you should eat things rich in iodine? I know personally that iodine intake gives me significant trouble and makes me very tired, irritable, and plain just makes me feel terrible! So if you have hypothyroidism you may want to check and see how it makes you feel personally when you eat iodized salt or other foods such as shrimp. If it makes you feel sick, tired, or irritable then you might want to make a personal note in your mind to steer clear of it. The nurse from my doctors office said she also has hypothyroidism and iodine intake also makes her feel bad, she is the one that told me about the Himalayan salt. The Himalayan salt actually tastes like regular salt but it is pink in color and it is a bit more expensive, but I like the taste of salt but would definitely rather not feel sick from eating salt so I don't personally mind paying a little more for it, because it is obviously better for me. Sorry for the novel, but if it helps someone it is definitely worth it. I wish someone would have taken the time to explain to me about iodine and how it might possibly effect, or make me feel terrible if I ingested it! Certainly would have kept from feeling terribly sick several times! May God bless and keep you all.

From deep diving into studies (due to free time during Christmas) i can say most of these foods wont affect us if they are cooked properly and eaten moderately. I think as an Indian I'll decrease my roti eating habits and go more for rice as i didn't even touch rice before this.

Most of this is from an assumption of an Iodine deficiency, so instead of cutting out Whole Plant Foods, especially Fruit, best to get a good source of Iodine. I make sure of this by using Poppyseeds( among a mix of other seeds) in my homemade Oat Milk, that are rich in Iodine and good for Copper, Zinc, Magnesium etc.

What u take for yo hypothyroidism?

  • @DubaiShortsChannel

Thank you for this explanation. I'm not diagnosed with hypothyroid, but I have a lot of symptoms of it, so it's highly possible. Which doctor can diagnose hypothyroid? As for food I intuitively avoid gluten ("bread"), cause 'it makes me fat' and onions. Didn't know about other food that you've mentioned. Thank you for this explanation.

I used pure natural breast cleanser and herbs prepared by dr isibor which he sent to me! And I applied and took the herbs for 2 weeks. I can give his contact so you discuss with him directly his herbal supplement works well if taken properly and it's affordable💯..

Your primary care physician can order the initial test and an endocrinologist can more specifically diagnose and treat it!

I can sympathise. I think I might have hyperthyroidism and these are all the foods I eat a lot of. My fatigue and coldness has gotten worse in the last few years and in that time I have become much more plant based and eat soy products several times a day for example. I am looking to get some tests to see if I do in fact have hypothyroidism but if I do, I'm going to have to really redesign my diet... thankfully there are more gluten-free products becoming available as well as vegetarian products that are soy-free... hopefully we can still enjoy some of these in small amounts.
