Me and a few others got hypnotised on a live stage.I was hypnotised into thinking the other random guy was my ex and we were on the Jeremy Kyle show. I never believed in hypnosis before, but i genuinely thought this man i had just met was my ex and we had a full scale argument on stage.

I think it didnt work because they werent in the correct state. Stevie forgot his name because it was the second time he had put him under, which means his trance state was more profound. If he had went for somnambilism, it likely would have worked but hes probably trying to keep things short and simple for the show

@@sillygoose7473 hate to break it to you, but I met someone online 5 years ago who is a hypnotist and I’m still in contact with him and have had many hypnosis sessions. I have learnt a lot about it. If stevie was faking it, why did he remember the number 7 when told not to? Surely if he was faking it he would of followed along with everything. Both Jack and Stevie was actually able to go into a trance state but that doesn’t necessarily mean all the suggestions will work. (Like how stevie still ended up remembering the number 7.) not all suggestions will work for someone. They are more LIKELY to be OPEN and more suggestible when in a trance state but that doesn’t mean it will always work. When in trance, your body naturally feels relaxed and limbs feel heavy. (Like we see in the video when their head tilts forward.) The reason why they flop down like that is due to the shock induction which immediately puts them in a trance state. Shock inductions are basically giving their conscious mind something to focus on, and then the hypnotist gives a quick interruption. The quick interruption then puts your mind in a susceptible state. When we get a shock and feel startled by something, the unconscious mind doesn’t know how to deal with it. And that’s when mind goes into a trance state for a second and that’s when you can hypnotise them and start to give suggestions. This explains it perfectly kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ynhst7GNib2sndY.html

Even Derren Brown has said in interviews that hypnotism doesn't really exist like people think it does. A lot of the time people 'go along with it' as they don't want to ruin a show out of awkwardness and it's fun. Or they are easy going and will go along with anything. Also people who are more extrovert tend to be easy to 'hypnotise' because they like the attention. I've been to a couple of Derren Brown shows and seen this first hand. My two friends who are extrovert were both 'hypnotised' and I wasn't. You have to be accepting of it. If you think you can't be influenced you won't. I've seen hypnotherapists too and it's basically just 'being relaxed' and didn't do anything for me. It's not like they can make you suck off a pig on stage or anything. If you are sucking off a pig on stage you are basically doing it because you want to and you should have a word with yourself!

I feel like it’s just common sense these days, but apparently there is a lot of uneducated people in this world that like to believe in fantasy’s, myths, magic etc…can’t help but feel sorry for them, it’s basically spreading a lie for positivity, lying for happiness is disgusting(In my opinion) but if you are happy living in a fake world, that’s your life, live how you want 😂

I got hypnotised in 2006 on my first lads holiday in Aiya Napa and i can say it's the weirdest feeling ever. You know you're doing at all times but are literally under a spell and do anything you're told. I won the grand national, I breastfed a baby i had just given birth to then it started biting my nipple off and the guy got me to act like I was in pain but fully knowing I wasn't but convinced myself my nipple was about to be torn off by a plactic baby, I swam with dolphins then got chased by a shark and had to swim as fast as I could whilst being sat in a chair, i cuddled some random guy who was doing it aswell and put my leg over his, i watched 3D porn and the guy had me reaching out to have a touch and feel and got me doing the full monty. Everything was off albeit my boxers. The guy said I'd remember everything when I had a sip of water, as soon as i did I realized when I'd done and was confused as to why I only had my boxers on. I've still got it on dvd aswell and to this day it remains one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had. The hypnotised name was Jay c. Not sure if he's about anymore but he'll surely be on KZread somewhere.

Sounds like a funny and cool experience. Just wanna say though, I know it may feel for you that you were under a spell, but you wasn’t! I feel like saying that will further lead to the misconception that hypnosis is a creepy and magical thing where they have control over you. They don’t. It’s all the power of your own mind doing the work! Hypnosis makes you more OPEN to suggestions but you won’t do anything that you really do not want to do. 😄

It’s because some amnesia suggestions don’t work on everyone. Plus when you say “you will forget the number 7” some people will actually end up doing the opposite and remember the number because the number 7 was literally spoken. That’s why some hypnotists prefer to say “you will forget what comes after the number 6.” Doing that doesn’t put emphasis on the word 7. (Hope that kinda makes sense lol) It’s kinda like if I tell you not to think of pink elephants… you will probably then think of it. If you have a look up about the ironic process theory, that explains it.

Stevie was 100% playing along, honestly believe all 'hypnosis' is just selecting people that will play along, because most people feel more socially awkward saying it hasn't worked in front of an audience so just go with it. I have first hand experience of this, I went to a Derren Brown live show and he chose me out the audience to 'cure' my Asthma as part of a miracle healer act. He clicked his hands and moved his hand onto my face meaning my eyes inevitably closed and he lowered me to the floor with his hand on my back, I was lay on the floor with my eyes closed but fully aware of what was going on and fully awake, at this point in front of a theatre full of people I decided I had to go along with the act as I was on the floor with my eyes closed. It was very odd but I felt first hand the social pressure to just follow the hypnotist and their actions despite being fully aware and conscious of my own free mind.

Trance can feel different for everyone though. Some people describe it as a heavy feeling, whereas other people describe it like their body feels light and floaty kinda feeling. Some people literally don’t feel any different (like you said.) And tbh, hypnosis isn’t a magical thing, so you aren’t gonna feel THAT different anyway. But usually it’s just a very nice blissful relaxed feeling and everything else just fades into the background for a while. Although you are still aware. It’s not like sleep

I find it interesting how you say you was aware of what was going on but yet you still closed your eyes and went along with what was happening. The fact that you LET yourself feel it, shows you was open to it. Trance doesn’t actually feel like a magical sleep. Most of the time you ARE actually aware of what is going on and hear what is being said to you. It’s just you don’t really question it and let it happen. Pretty much like what Stevie said at 4:45 . He was aware of what was happening, and felt like he COULD say his name if he wanted to, but it almost feels “right” to not say it and it was on the tip of his tongue but he just couldn’t say it. That’s literally because the power of suggestion was literally overriding the logical part of the mind. So yeah same with you, you can feel fully aware and feel no different but it just depends how much you wanna let the suggestion take effect I guess

Hypnosis has been proven to be a real thing though. Did you know you go into a trance state throughout the day? Things like watching a movie, studying, playing a video game. Hypnosis is a state where u feel relaxed and focused on that one thing and everything fades into the background for a while (like playing a video game.) Hypnosis also makes you more open to suggestion. It doesn’t mean you will do anything and everything you are told. It just makes your mind bit more open to ideas and feeling things. Like when playing that video game, the game can feel very real.

People tend to confuse trance with passing out or falling asleep. It looks like it on the outside, but it isn’t. When in trance, your body naturally feels relaxed and limbs feel heavy. The reason why they flop down like that is due to the shock induction which immediately puts them in a trance state. Shock inductions are basically giving their conscious mind something to focus on, and then the hypnotist gives a quick interruption. The quick interruption then puts your mind in a susceptible state. When we get a shock and feel startled by something, the unconscious mind doesn’t know how to deal with it. And that’s when mind goes into a trance state for a second and that’s when you can hypnotise them. This explains it perfectly kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ynhst7GNib2sndY.html

@@akzo4785 yeah I guess it could ALSO be interpreted that way. I guess we do not know for sure if his reaction was fake or not, however there are a lot of signs to tell someone is in a trance. Their body and muscles will become relaxed and they will usually slump forward, they will be calm and not move around a lot. You literally cannot stay tense in trance. It’s easy to see when someone’s body stays stiff and rigid, even if they drop their head a little forward, you can still see they body looking tense and not dropping their shoulders which is a clear sign someone is not in a trance and not letting themselves feel relaxed. That doesn’t happen here. You can see their body was relaxed. There are lot of other signs to tell someone is in a trance. Things like glazing of the eyes, watering of eyes, sometimes rash around eyes, the pupils, eyes with usually flutter as they about the close their eyes, and also sometimes flicker when they have their eyes closed (which is REM) slower change in breathing, body temperature, less swallowing, even a slight difference in skin colour, change in heart rate and many other indications of trance. I know it’s hard to see many of the signs I listed through just watching this video, so I guess only Robert and more Stevie himself only knows if it was fake or not. We don’t know for sure if it was a real reaction, but you ALSO don’t know for sure if it was fake. It could have felt very real for Stevie. (Sorry I realise this was so long 🤣)

Losing one of his senses by closing his eyes makes him more susceptible to things he is hearing (Robert's voice) and feeling (touch on the hand). Robert explains in our previous clip that rather than "sleep", it's more like going on auto-pilot while driving, or like the state of drowsiness after you've just woken up. So you are aware and can respond but you're in a daze.

When in a trance state, your body feels very relaxed and it’s literally natural for your limbs to feel heavy and floppy. So on the outside I guess people think it looks like “sleep” (which I reckon is why hypnotists use that trigger word because it’s what most people associate it with.) However it’s not ACTUALLY sleep and even Robert said it’s not really the right word to use.
