Hypershell Exoskeleton Review: Best Sidekick for Outdoor Adventures!

Ғылым және технология

You can back the project at: hypershell-exoskeleton.kckb.s... I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed by this exoskeleton product. The first time I put it on, it felt so refreshing and exciting that I couldn't help but be amazed. It's perfect for those who plan on embarking on long outdoor adventures since it's lightweight and compact, which means it won't take up much space in your backpack. Plus, it’s really easy to use, you don’t have to learn anything, it comes with different modes for different scenarios, making it energy-efficient and allowing you to enjoy more of your surroundings. And even if you're someone like me who spends a lot of time biking, it's still a great fit!

  • @psydoc2871
    @psydoc2871 Жыл бұрын

    Hi, I have just read this online and would appreciate your views about it. “It appears to provide lift/press assistance to the upper leg. But there are two huge problems with that. The 1HP (peak) output is going to load through the section of your leg that it attaches to, which is almost certainly going to create repetitive stress injuries. But the bigger issue is likely to be that it is using your lower back as the fulcrum for pushing against when generating that load. Physics is cruel. Nothing is free. In order to create push, you need to have something to push against. While it is true that they are mitigating that load using a structural belt, but those twisting, torquing, pushing forces will still load the back and pelvis and the thing that will suffer the most from it will probably be the lumbar spine just above top of the belt.”

  • @SamiLuo

    @SamiLuo

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, what you said is true, especially the parts attached to the legs will definitely feel a bit sore with long-time use (the brand has said they will find a new way to solve that), but I found the waist part to be very comfortable. Anyway, in my honest view, this is an auxiliary product that helps you during long outdoor activities.

    @@SamiLuo Thanks for your reply. What about the stress on the lower back?

  • @ww-pw6di

    @ww-pw6di

    Жыл бұрын

    @@psydoc2871 He said "it felt very comfortable" which has been consistent across many of his comments so we can assume that whatever pressure or stress is ultimately applied to the lower back has been negligible during his experiences with it. I find it to be a very novel solution to the exoskeleton "problem", but I also had the same thoughts as you did. As the forces (now amplified with the electric actuation) have to go somewhere it will mean extra stress to joints and the attachment points, but when I think about it, I think this method could yield a very efficient gait if instead of using muscles to lift your leg you let the machine do the lifting which would provide the "counter weight" to the pushing. Regardless it's a very cool product and I can't wait to see further iterations of it.

    Very cool product! However, it is obvious that it provides additional strength to the thigh, but how does this affect the knee and ankle joints? Could it be that my knee would be overloaded? Also, it would be interesting to see the impact on the metabolic cost. Thanks! 😀

  • @SamiLuo

    @SamiLuo

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, you are right, the leg support part feels a bit sore if wearing for a long day but overall acceptable, I wish they could be a little bit wider like that waistband, that would be super comfortable. I don't think it will cause overloading issue for your knees as the Hypershell generates power to help you running or cycling easier. :D

    You sure looked like you were having fun! How did using this affect your breathing effort compared to doing these activities without it? I ask because I have asthma. If the essential purpose is to make your body more efficient, it seems that it could make respiratory effort easier too, but it was hard to tell from the video. I also live in the Rockies at 5150 ft elevation, but like to hike up at a bit higher elevations in the local State Park. What a boon something like this would be. My "Spring Chicken" days are long gone. Lol.

    Thanks for the review. A few questions. (1) Have you done long distance running and walking tests to demonstrate a. If the assistance/ power generated remains the same thought the entire range or it diminishes with use? b. Have you quantified (ie how much more) the amount of assistance/ power generated by the device as compared to normal walking and running without it? c. What’s your weight and how what kind of overall range did you achieve walking and running, from a single charge on the battery? (2) Can it interfere or restrict the normal walking and running related movements; such as twisting and turning, bending, flexing or raising of legs etc. (3) Does the continuous use cause discomfort and fatigue? Thanks

  • @SamiLuo

    @SamiLuo

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, thanks for asking. I'm trying to answer your questions based on what I experienced: (1)A. I feel the power is adjusted as needed, and does not diminish with use. B. I definitely feel lighter compared to normal walking without the device, but hard to describe how much or quantified, lol. Maybe they'll show this in the App maybe? But i just can't give you a number C. It has nothing to do with my weight though :DD My smart band shows around 20,000 steps, and it still has plenty of juice left like I said in the video 2. No interference at all, like I showed cycling and even jumping over a rail (7:44), it's very flexible. 3. I didn't feel discomfort, actually I feel much more comfortable with the waistband attached there, but I gotta say the thigh part where attached to the leg supports is a little sour after long wearing, but it is acceptable :D Hope answers your question.
