Hyperlaps & fuel burn

Alrighty, we are heading out on one of our longer moves and let's do some hyperlaps and then talk about the fuel burn differences between the S790s and the X9 that we have noticed thus far.

(figuring out how to scope out to screwed flighting could be a tricky one) - heck just blow the kernels out the pipe and not have an auger. @@lynwessel2471 Great minds think alike as I was also thinking about that. Self propelled grain carts with the drivers elevating cab at the back of the cart would work well, otherwise with a tractor, the unload auger would have to be angled back too far impeding the combine operators view of the spout end of the auger and the dust storm coming out of the back of the combine may contaminate the grain in the cart. Synthetic vision like that used in some aircraft could be used or a camera in the combines cab to see the spout end could eliminate the need to see the real thing.

We’ve had 10-11 inches this yr and need a good rain this fall. Lots of cracks in the ground. Maybe the grasshoppers will fall into them. Take care, have a good rest of the harvest. Mike, the fuel tank on your combine is setup just like in a car, the top half is bigger than the bottom half. And also, it's a good thing that i don't work for you, cause i would be so lost in those endless fields with no direction. Has it happened before with a new guy?

It's impossible for 1 half to be larger or smaller than the other half. If that were true, they wouldn't be halves. 😂😂

They'll run for about an hour with no bars on the guage, but you do not want to run it out of fuel.

I thought the HD 50fd didn't have an auger I thought it was strictly a draper?

It's a "pea auger" like the Honeybee drapers also have. Helps viney bushy crops like peas, canola, mustard move along and not start rolling on the belt like tumbleweeds.

Do you fuel up the grain carts last because unfortunately the crop yields are poor and if necessary can show up late to next field because not needed in a big rush. Like every year, hoping for a better crop next year.

You fuel up the grain carts last because they don’t burn much fuel in a day so they only need a splash

Tracks on combines are over rated, and not needed in this part of the world. Also they come with sweet 100k premium, so that money has to come back to you and I simply cannot make that investment back.
