Hyper boosting Creativity! | New Computer build

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

More processing power and speed means less frustration and wasted time when you're trying to get your "Maker on." Seriously the old HP Omen that I had was starting to get slower and slower for the projects I was doing whether Videos, 3d Print designing, etc. Even after an operating system refresh it wasn't cutting it anymore.
Pulled the plug on the components listed below. So far it certainly made work faster and more enjoyable. Still need to get a GPU extension cable to mount the GPU vertically to avoid any possible sagging and clean up the cabling
The HP Omen repurposed - I now have a SWEET HIGH Speed computer connected to my Smart trainer for indoor #zwift and #trainerroads rides. BONUS I can run some great cycling race videos from ‪@bthebike‬ while training.

Let me know your thougths on component selection bearing in kind this ins't a gaming PC and will be used for video processing, 3d \CAD design etc

Hey neighbor (I live up the street on the corner)! I like the channel content. I just went through the same exercise a few months back. Funny thing is we used the same case. You make a good point on processors being a Chevy vs. Ford thing. I have always had an Intel preference. Next machine I build maybe I’ll try an AMD. Great video!

Have to say I did look at the Intel Core i9-13900 in envy just couldn't justify the extra $300

Well I just get tied up on research the best of everything, it takes too much time, I'll look back at this as a starting point if I ever need to build something from scratch that is not a data center or a "cloud".

There was a bit of waffling back and forth on $$$$ to value for what I was looking to build. Most research content is geared towards Gaming PC so that makes it even more time consuming to research

If the reading of 4.8 GHz RAM speed in the benchmark is correct then you need to enable Expo in the bios to set the advertised 6000 MT/s speed. This should improve CPU performance.

yeah I did end up enabling the EXPO setting and seems to show correct mhz but it boots pretty slow.

I would be curious to compare this to my base Mac Studio or MacBook Pro (both 2 yr old M1s) as to cost, speed and energy efficiency. The latter rarely talked about unless discussing laptop battery life. Obviously the PC is modular and the Macs are not but in my years of working on computers I found people rarely did more than upgrade ram or the HD and less as computers progressed-but then again I worked with designers and photographers as opposed to gamers.

Mac certainly have their place. I started out trying to do video processing on a mac book albeit an older one. It was decent but I've been using the windows OS since it pretty much came out......touch on the old side ;)

@@YourCouchsucks I am a little bit older racing 60+ now. 😳 I started on a Mac Plus in '89 with a brief stint on a Windows machine supplied to me to do a newsletter before they were really useful for graphics (but still better than pre-desktop publishing machines). Different world now. I'm officially retired but in my last years of 9-5 the only PCs I used/supported were driving a ULS laser and ShopBot CNC machine-no Mac drivers. The 3D printers did have Mac software. The platform is less a factor than it was 20 years ago. I am curious about efficiency because my M1 MacBook Pro is a bit faster than the Intel based MacBook Pro it replaced but the heat generated is significantly less. My M1 barely gets warm when 4K rendering in Zwift and the fan is silent. The Intel's fan would be maxed and the aluminum bottom relatively hot to the touch.
