    Hey Duds after enjoying your unboxing video of this particular jacket from Master Supplies, I found now your well formulated detailed revue about that jacket very interesting, especially because you also emphasized some special details and several critical issues in a very honest way. That makes your videos so helpful and inspiring for own plans to consider buying a leather jacket of a certain brand. Awesome work, thank you! Wishing you all the best, peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.

    Marketing is definitely the way to win brand loyalty particularly for the casual & fashion conscious individual.Premium products typical in this sector tend to sell themselves with a minimum advertising & generally sort after by enthusiasts.The Jacket you are reviewing would be a welcome part of any collection & the look is quite slick to say the very least.

    Thanks Lucky. Looking forward to seeing that jacket too. They’ve already made changes to the lining & action back for the Reload, and I talked with them about lessening the load of the internal pockets and sleeve zip welts. And of course I’m curious about the leather

    Very welcome review, thank you! I agree with the pre distressed sentiments. That is the main reason I haven't tried one myself. For the novice collector or someone who doesn't need a high end heavy jacket these sound like a nice step up in both quality and weight from the Thursday jackets.

    I think it’s definitely a step up from Thursday, which I found hard to generally recommend. I like that they’re continuing to improve with each iteration too. Will be curious if they’re able to get better leathers over time, I know they’re working on it but results unknown

    I've got the original convoy and goldrush and I'm pretty pleased with them. I did buy the Convoy 224. Thought it looked cool the way it faded. Can see why some people are into that, but I'm liking the way that mine has started to fade. Have to agree with the length of the arms- i'm 5'9 too, and the sleeves are just slightly too long, but I've gotten used to it - but then that applies to most jackets I guess. Class review man.

    Thanks man! Yeah I actually ordered the replacement Daytona with shorter body and sleeves…it’s almost always a problem for me too. As for the fading thing, it seems like it’s a love it or hate it option, but then again it’s not the only one they offer

    Their business model seems similar to that of Avi Leathers in Denmark, which are designed in Denmark and manufactured in Pakistan. I’ve seen a few favorable reviews on Avi Leathers. I can’t confirm from personal experience, but their materials are supposed to be top-notch. If you’re looking for another quality jacket and a good value, you might want to check them out sometime.

    I have two Lewis Leathers jackets and they both zip on the left. I always figured it had something to do with being able to operate the zipper while your right hand is operating the throttle on a motorcycle. I find it adds character when things operate differently. Back in my riding days, I had a number of different bikes (Norton, Triumph, Ducati, Moto Guzzi) and they all had different shift patterns; some were right foot shit, some were left foot shift, some 1st gear was up and some 1st gear was down. Just made it more fun for me.

    @@DudsByDel Yeah, I really like the MS stuff. Over the years I’ve come to the concconclusion that you don’t necessarily need to spend a lot of money to find a jacket you love. I have a SuperDry leather jacket that I wear all the time on the motorcycle.

    I also agree, I didn’t like the “Insta Rust”. I want to break it in myself. You should check out the Tombstone Reload. That’s my favourite from Master Supply and more in tune with the Schott.

    I did consider the tombstone too. But I figured I wanted to see if I could land on a jacket I might keep if I liked for my first run, and between the Schott & Cal leather I don’t expect I’d keep the Tombstone around. That being said reviewing other models in the future remains a possibility!

    The problem with masters and co is that their jacket are small! The biggest one is actually a 2xl ! I was looking to buy a 3xl and no sir cannot be done! As far as not expensive well here in Canada the one that I was looking for was over 700$ to me that is a lot of money!

    My typical advice for folks has been to buy a used Schott Vanson Aero etc if they can’t afford new. It’s what I myself have been doing. However, some folks just do not want to buy used or don’t feel comfortable with a jacket they can’t return easily. I did like this jacket much more than the Thursday jacket I reviewed

    The leather while hanging looks like plastic to me! It looks cheaply tanned and doesn’t look supple.

  • @DudsByDel

    @DudsByDel

    2 ай бұрын

    In actuality it’s quite supple, I wish it were a little stiffer to resist abrasion and take on creases. I have a hunch the cowhide on the reload may be better for me but dunno. It obviously will be less nice than the hide on any of more other more expensive jackets. But it’s more robust than cheap lamb. When talking price the cost of the leather is such a huge component it’s hard to understate its importance. Consider just leather at wholesale discount for my Langlitz jacket cost about $200-225, this whole jacket including labor has to cost around there (?possibly less?)

  • @AxelFoley-sb5re
    @AxelFoley-sb5re2 ай бұрын

    I think some of your criticism is a little unfair and while you have good taste in jackets your taste outside of anything leather is that of bland which is a little obvious when I watch your videos, so I'm not surprised. That being said the reload is a better jacket along with the vest. You will like it.

  • @DudsByDel

    @DudsByDel

    2 ай бұрын

    Hey Axel, 1) would be curious what in particular you found unfair, as I try to be very specific and honest about things I notice, while considering what good reasons may exist for why things are the way they are. Consider that for the Daytona Reload, Master Supply already had decided to rework the action back and replace the lining with cotton for better breathability. Besides I think giving details helps folks understand why the jacket is $450 and not $800 or whatever 2) as to my general style, and as with many things, it’s a work in progress. I tend to be jacket-centric in what I am drawn to, so I have to divert myself into “filling in the gaps” so to speak when it comes to other aspects of style like accessories. That being said, a leather jacket is a big draw and a statement piece. Too many things thrown together can get over busy in my opinion. 3) definitely looking forward to the Reload! I talked with the master supply co folks and got the lengths modified to be a touch shorter for me, along with a few other little changes they were happy to make.
