Hydroponic System: How to Grow Succulents, Fruits & Herbs Indoors (With Amazing Updates)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

A hydroponic system is one of the best ways to grow succulents and herbs indoors. Please take the time to watch this video to learn how it's done. Seeing signs of growth, like the roots and small buds sprouting is very rewarding.
Unfortunately, the hydroponic system that I got in this video is no longer available. I tried to access it and I couldn't find it. Here is the link to the hydroponic system that I think would work the same way: amzn.to/3IIL9Gy

    Hello Sheila! I am currently watching every single one of your videos and I have just started propagating my second succulent plant. My first succulent was a beauty, colourful and quite large. I got it from store and it came with a beautiful blue pot. I cared meticulously for it and ended up with a over hydrated plant, the more the leaves fall off, the more I thought I dehydrated the plant, so i kept watering it and it ended up totally gone. It was a bad heartbreak, so for period I didn’t dare to purchase and grow succulent again to prevent disappointment. But recently I decided to get one again in hope that some research may bring hope for my succulent dream. But I didn’t rush to propagate because I was careful not to set myself up for a giant failure again. But what pushed me to take a leap of faith, is all your precisely informative and incredibly encouraging videos! Today is the first day I have began to propagate my plant, I repotted it in the blue pot my first succulent came in, (in remembrance of my beautiful first succulent) lol. And I look forward to updating you when all is successful! I am trying both the dry and bottle water method. Also began propagating some other wild plants I cut from the woods, just to try! Thank you for doing what you are doing! You are just so amazing and truly inspiring! Speak to you again, my garden soulmate! 😂

    Hello Sheila, that was a very nice video, I really liked it (like all of your videos), so thank you for your effort :) I'm already looking forward to your upcoming video about zebra-plant propagation. I also have a zebra plant and always failed trying to propagate it, so I'm really curious! I'm also interested in a follow-up video of this one where you tell us more about this hydroponic system, like how you clean it but also about the progress of your strawberries of course! I personally never heard of this kind of system before, did I get it right that when everything is assembled, the roots are below the water-level and thats how they stay hydrated? Have a nice day :)

    Hey I was watching your propagation videos and was seeing that most people wait till the leaves dry up and Callous up. But I didn’t really see you do that or heard an explanation. So just wondering does waiting till it’s calloused affect anything or can I just start misting as soon as I pick the leaves off and put it into soil?

  • @SucculentFame

    @SucculentFame

    4 жыл бұрын

    Your observation is correct. I don’t wait for them to callous over. I just do whatever. 😅 As for misting...I never really mist until I see roots. I just feel like they would have more will to sprout when they’re trying to search for moisture in the air and soil. And this is why they would push forth roots. They use it to search for moisture. If we would mist the mother leaves before sprouting, they wouldn’t need roots to find moisture. This is a very good question. I really appreciate it. My apologies for the late response. Hi Gina, I blasted (gently, kinda 😅) the roots of the strawberries with my garden hose to shake off some of the roots. The soil didn't clog it one bit, 'cause it has a filter. Some of the excess soil just settled at the bottom (maybe because soil is quite heavy) and it was really easy to siphon them out. So far, I think I have replaced the water 4 times. Thank you so much for the kind words and everything else! Thank you for visiting my website, too. I can never thank you enough for supporting my channel by leaving all these kind comments. @goncaloteixeira8009

    Hey there, I've kept many plants for years and have noticed almost all react badly to being moved from indoors to direct sunlight in one move. If you've just wintered your plant indoors, try moving it into the shade first, then after a week move it into sunlight, so they have time to adapt. You can also check light levels with any free lux meter app for your phone (indoors is usually below 1,000, outdoor shade up to 15,000, direct sunlight over 130,000! yikes!). Many succulents actually change colour and gradually develop a protective layer on their skin, Aeonia are no different, so give them time :)
