    How much current does a setup like this take? Could you run a unit like this in a car off an alternator and inject it into the intake so it would actually give you a positive result in energy used vs created?

    Called a flashback, all the hydrogen in line line is exploding, thats why we have the bubbler. If there was nothing stopping the hydrogen from flashing back into the main container it would blow it self up.

    I dont think these are "full" flashbacks though(probably just inside the torch) since a flashback all the way to the bubbler would make your ears ring and probably blow some tubes off their connections.

    It's impurities in the steel nail. The nails had a little bit a rust on it so it was probably the small amounts of Iron-Oxide (rust) that was popping

  • @kalleklp7291
    @kalleklp72915 жыл бұрын

    The residue on the plates is due to the use of brass bolts is simply made a galvanic reaction (the chemical added will support this further). Use stainless steel in all parts and get rid of residue + rust/oxidation. Btw..a flame arrestor would be a must-have safety feature. I almost wanted to say "Happy new year" as you melted the nail.. You can fabricate one by yourself a tube and some stainless steel wool is all it takes to be safe. Nice generator setup.

    So I guess the safety bubbler thingie is for when the flame burns back though the tubing it cannot reach the generator and blow it up. Is that correct? How thick are the cables which connect the generator to the power supply (the cross section I mean)? Is there any particular reason to use destilled water and add things to make it conductive, rather than using regular tap water? Will regular cooking salt work? If not: Where do you buy the chemicals? How expensive is the generator + tubing + water tank? Thank you for this interesting video. I would like to try this too. Are there any special/unexpected safety concerns (other than the gas being highly flammable because it contains oxygen)? Also: Does the torch tip have any special valves in it which prevent the flame from going back into the tube? Or is it just the gas coming out fast enough?

    Don't use table salt it will produce a poisonous gas called Chlorine gas. use baking soda. Also use stainless steel plates and bolts. Also put the plates in this order + - + - and so on and so forth. Use household cable that goes in your walls. And yes the flash back erstor is to prevent flash backs from happening which is when the fire comes inside the tube.

    how well will it function with normal tap water ? Compared to your solution.

  • @Mr.Unacceptable

    @Mr.Unacceptable

    8 жыл бұрын

    Distilled water doesn't conduct. It's the minerals and impurities that make water conductive. He's just using the least corrosive means to make the water it's most conductive. Could use salt water but it creates corrosion. It all depends on what your tap water has in it. More than likely you have hard water that will work just fine or even better but then you have the corrosion and calcium scale build up on the plates.

    Probably not as well due to the extra unknown-containments that he can't possibly account for. Adding a verified amount of a substance would allow him to produce Hydrogen and Oxygen at a rate he could control, unlike with tap water which can change time to time. :)

    A suggestion, use a striker for lighting the flame, I have seen people use small lighters to fire up torches before and the lighter blow up in their hand because the flame ran down into the fuel, or the flame melted a hole in the lighter.

    each side of the neutral plates become opposite polarity ,the further away from one polarity you go,the more closer to the other polarity it becomes,it gives in essence more little + and - cells,from the most negative end each neutral plate face will become negative or positive,so one face of a neutral plate will be more negative or positive than the other side of the same plate -,+-,+-,+-,+ this would be negative supply at one end then three neutral plates then the positive supply at the far end,as Do R/C! says,voltage dividers,they even out and share the potential(voltage).

    You have your holes at same place so your plates can't create so much that way. It's better to have first plate 2-3 holes at the bottom and next plate 3 holes on left side, next 3 holes on right side etc until last plate where the exit is and have 3-4 holes at top to get best effect out of everything. I use 22 plates, size 150mm x 150mm and gives me plenty of HHO.
