Hydraulic Thread Finder Kit for Farm Equipment

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It can sometimes be tricky to figure out exactly what size and style hydraulic threads you are working with on farm equipment. This thread finder kit includes hydraulic fittings with the male and female threads of the common styles and sizes found on farm tractors and implements, as well as compact and utility tractors and implements. Ag style hydraulic threads in the United States tend to be JIC, O-Ring Boss (also referred to as SAE), pipe thread, and O-Ring Face. Hydraulic thread sizes on agricultural equipment typically range from 9/16" up to 1-1/16". These are the specific hydraulic thread styles and sizes included in the kit: 1-1/16" (#12) JIC, 7/8" (#10) JIC, 3/4" (#8) JIC, (#6) 9/16" JIC, 13/16" (#8) O-RING FACE, 11/16" (#6) O-RING FACE, (#4) 9/16" O-RING FACE, 3/4" (#12) PIPE THREAD, 1/2" (#8) PIPE THREAD, 3/8" (#6) PIPE THREAD, 1/4" (#4) PIPE THREAD, 1-1/16" (#12) O-RING BOSS, 7/8" (#10) O-RING BOSS, 3/4" (#8) O-RING BOSS, AND 9/16" (#6) O-RING BOSS.

There are a few things to keep in mind when identify the hydraulic threads on your agricultural equipment. JIC and o-ring boss (abbreviation ORB, also referred to as SAE) have the same sizes and the same thread pitch. This means, for example, that a 3/4" male JIC fitting will thread into a 3/4" female ORB fitting. Also, there is one size in the ORFS style, the 9/16" O-Ring Face, that also has the same thread pitch as the 9/16" ORB and 9/16" JIC. In these situations, you need to take a close look at the style of the threads you're working with. The male threads are pretty straightforward - the JIC male threads have an obvious pitch on the tip, the o-ring boss male has an o-ring without a metal ring around the top of the threads, and the o-ring face has an o-ring embedded in the flat end of the male threads. The female thread styles can be trickier to identify. The female JIC has a thick taper section that you can see pretty easily. The female ORFS has a large flat ring for the o-ring embedded in the tip of the male to seal against. The ORB female threads are harder to identify, although once you've ruled out JIC and ORFS, then you're left with ORB.
