Hydrangeas are among my favorites! I have a 'Little Lime' I've had many years, before it got that name ('Jane' is the reason I bought it, for my sister). It's sort of outgrown the spot where I planted it, the hose catches on the trunk and it is flopping over the lawn. I'm going to try moving it in a couple weeks. If it doesn't survive the move I'll replace it with 'Little Lime Punch'. I mean. Those colors! I finally got 3 'Blue Kazoo' spirea planted. 🥴 I bought them in June. After so much time, they looked horrible, one looked like it was dead. But, a couple days in the ground, the other two look happier. I cut back the crispy critter and see it's not all the way dead. It's only "mostly dead." (Princess Bride reference.) 😊 Jerry, you've become quite the professional videographer and director. I noticed your moves to later add the still of hydrangeas in full bloom. 😉 Very nice.

Your hydrangea videos are my absolute favorite. You give such great honest info about them. I live on the side of a mountain in north Alabama so the oak leafs look great in my yard; but, with your info, I have decided to try some different ones thanks to you! Btw - I think I saw somewhere a pix of y’all at a Clemson game. One of my very best friends is a die hard Clemson fan. My heart has been hurting for y’all!! I was born and raised a Vol fan so I definitely know that sick feeling. Hang tough!! 🧡

I was at a nursery in Durham NC yesterday and saw my first Puffer Fish hydrangea with a few blooms. I immediately said OH! Now I see why Jenny is so excited about this plant. These panicles are HUGE! 🌱💖💮 I'm gonna try to get to your nursery again for this sale!!

Hi fellow Canuck! I’m in Manitoba zone 3 and have 4 hydrangeas. They are all panical so are pruned in the spring by about 1/3. Pruning for me usually occurs in mid to late May above a strong set of leaf buds. I fertilize with 10 10 10 then as well, and then with 10 30 10 in June before the buds open. Panicals bloom on new growth so that’s why they are pruned before growth happens, the others like Oak Leaf bloom on old so are pruned after the blooms are finished by just cutting off the spent blooms. My sister just got back from a vacation in NFDL and was blown away by its beauty and it’s people! Happy Gardening!! 🌸🇨🇦

Thanks for the video Jenny. I just wanted to mention that PW's Pinky Winky hydrangea is a wonderful one as well. They remind me of the old PeGee hydrangeas you find up the high country of NC. I live in North Alabama and even with our heat and humidity mine turn a lovely shade of mauve. Their bloom heads arent as tight so the rain doesnt weigh them down so much.

Look at all those beautiful plants! I am feeling so discouraged this year. So much rain flash floods and other things have taken away my ability to really garden this year. A lot more messes than successes. 😢

I love your video’s especially on hydrangeas. I’ve had a hydrangea in a pot (it’s call a tuff stuff ah ha). It looks great in the pot but I want to put it into a much larger one. Do I pull or cut the root ball? I’m in zone 7 A.

Met Jerry and he was so gracious with us being fans. I am in 8b and wanted to know what slow release fertilizer do you use on your hydrangeas?
