This is why the only dialogue options I can ever pick are the ones that use her name. To show her that we remember, and care about her.

No matter how many times I watch it, this scene is an emotional sucker punch.

i was like : "omg a PLATFORM !!! a platform !!! it's boss time"

I saw the party invite and for a moment I was slightly sad that the scions didn't get to join the only trial they could. Then I saw the party glamour. Worth it.

I had to double back and see the glamour as I didn't pay attention to it. Not only the robes and the colors, but they all have the Divine weapons from the EX too. :D

What got me is that they started playing the intro theme for character creation. Genius.

That song is actually a long-running staple of the Final Fantasy franchise, dating back to the opening screen of the original Final Fantasy Game. It's specifically the song of the *crystal* and it shows up, sometimes hidden, in just about every major musical piece in FFXIV. So yeah, they would use the crystal's theme when referencing the mothercrystal itself.

That’s the Prelude. This version was the original FFXIV A Realm Reborn title screen theme.

I love watching your reactions to all these scenes, and I especially love how you seem to always choose my favorite dialogue options. Congrats for calling her by name, and not by her title.

I know we should be happy for Venat, this was too much work for anyone, she must have desperately wanted to "return to the star", to see this moment. She's long overdue a rest. But man am I sad she's gone... Whenever I see this, it's the "I am grown man, I can do this" meme, but then it's all just a weterfall. I mean I am not crying! You're crying!

Personally, what makes me sob is imagining the intense relief she must feel. She's spent 10,000+ years basically alone,, working towards a goal she hoped for but had no assurance would ever come to pass. To finally see that mankind actually has the potential to achieve said goal, must have been such a load off her shoulders. To finally be released from such a burden and granted the freedom you've desired for an eternity...it must be such an amazing feeling. For me, I cry gears of happiness and joy for her, rather than mourn her paasing. It's what she'd want us to do, anyway.

Every time I hear this theme i just get teary eyed. It is just masterfully written.

"Prove ourselves worth, eh? Sounds straightfoward enough!"

Thinking back on her reaction to the first dialog option, it's been so long since someone has called her by her name instead of Hydaelyn since her Final Days. ;;

It's also a callback to Elpis. She is considered strange for not passing on when her duty is done. she considers that she cannot move on until mankind can find it's way forward without her. it's a reasurance for her that we know that it's okay for her to go. she can leave without regret as Venat with her duty done safe in the knowledge that we can keep moving without her anymore.

This was THE moment in Endwalker, imo,

This scene always destroys me, Venat was like a mother to me always there guiding, loving and protecting you when it counted but also working on helping you get the strenght to one day strive off on your own and keep their dream alive for a true paradise

To pick the other option instead of calling her Venat just didn't feel right. She deserved to hear someone say her real name one last time.

There is a reason why the song from the fight is called "Your answer" :)

I broke the inner screen of my galaxy fold 3 when I their answer started playing when I reached this point of the story. I opened my phone went a hyped message to a friend who was a head of me in the MSQ and slammed my phone shut cracking the inner screen in my hype and excitement

Scene gets me everytime I watch someone react to it. Hit me hard on my first playthrough and had to take a break because I'm ball of emotions and get easily sad lol.

First time I see your videos and man, your character looks like you! (just with scars) I'm amazed!

Sigh... This scene. This damned scene..... I always seem to have something in my throat everytime it plays.

that epic version of answers got me feeling a way man. ugh so good. this scene was hands down one of my faves

I recommend going back and doing this with Trusts when you have time. They worked very hard to have each character’s quirks shine.

The culmination of 10+ years of storytelling.

Just remember... "The Crystal's Original Bearer" was NOT Azem. The world was already sundered when the last three who remained made the memory crystals. Which means that really only one person could've said those words.

My interpretation of it was she didn't do it just for the future she did it for the people she loved the most and emet lahabrea and elidibus And a little bit suffered the most yes but she still loved them too despite everything she still cared for them and that why I cry every time And she forgiven no but she did it out of love and care for a future and a hope that we find a way to stop it all save the 3 who at one point where family and still are from other life and I can't wait to see where and how they continue it now

People rightfully love Venat/Hydaelyn but she was also very manipulative. Sure, she had her reasons and [spoiler] but the community doubt pre Endwalker was justified, she presented herself in very shady ways. Also, her choice to subject the world to unimaginable suffering is morally questionable, even if it was for the greater good. "The ends justify the means" is too often abused by evildoers. Don't get me wrong, I love crystal mommy and deeply respect the suffering and pain she went through herself. Uncounted years of torment, always sheperding hope and never giving up. That takes serious strength and devotion. I'm just saying she had to do some terrible stuff to pave the way for a brighter future, which should always be remembered.

It's also scary to think about how wrong everyone was about the moon plan. Venat should have known that running away from Meteion was pointless, after all she was a speedy space birb. Why would escaping the planet bring them to safety? It would only be a matter of time until Meteion found them again, if she didn't just outright follow them.

It’s pretty clear from post story stuff that none of the Ancients were “right” or morally just. Venat, Hermes, and Emet-Selch all did horrible things in the name of their truth, but in the end thr salvation of the world came because each of them acted in the way that they did.

and the thing about it is as well she accepted what she did never wanting or asking for forgiveness from her children nor herself. In fact You even see her suffering along with her children actually as well during the earlier quest. I honestly feel that the moment the player chooses to say her name she feels the sense of forgiveness she never sought and allowed her to disperse with hope and light instead of sorrow and despair. As she prepared and tested us ultimately we gave crystal mommy what she needed to disperse with not only hope but peace and light as shown by her tears. forgiveness.
