Jeez I miss cherry ghost. They were backing the magic numbers at the Apollo in Manchester. We got delayed and watched them walk off stage! Never saw them live, still listen to all their wonderful music

Brilliant and underated band Simon's writing is second to none, one of my favourite bands ever, just quality every song , such a shame they never got the stardome they so richly deserved, still for me one of the UK's best ever bands.........And i'm an old prog and punk fan at 60, Big up to Simon you wrote some classic songs

Strikingly well conceived tune. I think this is one of the best pop songs ever done. Such yearning. Lovely and tireless melody

Phenomenal songwriting; I feel as if every word and every verse crafted so perfectly depict the wistfulness and longing from the song

+didoma73 Yes, It took me right away. I heard Tom Chaplin of Keane sing it on his channel. He does it justice.

Loved this the first time I heard it and it is still magnificent now

I hadn't seen a good friend of mine in a while, and I heard this song, and it pretty much summed up how we both felt, thanks to the dude who owned the cafe for telling me the name of the song.

I would be extremely proud to have had any involvement in this project whatsoever. Thanks for letting me listen and look. Can't stop playing it :) In a selfish way I hope this doesn't chart or get too popular.. I secretly like the fact that not everyone knows about it - like the majority of the tripe out there. Proper art... really struck a note with me.

I would give anything to see Cherry Ghost get back together. I asked Simon a couple of years ago if he thought it could/would ever happen, he replied that it will NEVER happen which is really sad, they were fantastic.

@kerensasdad I was trying to think who's voice he reminded me of and there is a touch of Paul Buchanan in there somewhere. Think it's the singing from the back of the throat that might do it. Couldn't put my finger on a particular BN song it reminds me of, but the atmosphere of the song and the vocals are certainly reminiscent. Great stuff.

saw them at V festival last weekend. you know what the most embarrassing thing was? the tent was practically half empty, people would rather see some of the pap on the main stage (i think it was peter andre or something dog-rough like that). they played amazing, although the small crowd made it feel a bit more intimate. still, a band like them deserves better. cracking song and "We Sleep On Stones" is one of the best tunes I've heard in a long, long time.
