Hvac Technician quick facts |Hvac life

In this video I go over CLO boards for carrier units. As a commercial hvac technician, this may be something that you encounter often or if you are considering getting into the field, this will be something that you encounter. So I would like to share my knowledge with all current and future hvac technicians on how CLO boards work. This is the Hvac life! #hvac #techlife

After 35 yrs servicing commercial and industrial that was the best explanation of the CLO I have heard! Good job bud.

All you have to do to check if it is locked out is to check the voltage from C to X. If you have voltage it is locked out. They work like an impedance relay or holding relay.

Those older pre Central Terminal Board units sure turned into a wiring nightmare. For some reason they rarely used that CLO as much after 2006 with CTB and just let that compressor bang off and back on repeatedly as the LPS or HPS resets.

That’s interesting! I had no idea, yah for some reason someone previously bypassed the CLO in this unit. I had to wire everything back. Guess they didn’t know how they worked lol

Why does it look like about 50 people have been inside that thing over the years? Wires are all over the place!

Before the central terminal board was used after 2006or so, the techs would cut the zip ties on these and quickly turn them into a bird's nest 😐
