The Sun has not destroyed Huw's life, he has. There are thousands of people living with depression who do not resort to this type of behaviour. The thing is, many of us forget that most of the people on TV use a persona. We are led to believe that they're like extended family, whom we welcome into our homes daily. They convince us that they are suffering the way us mere mortals are, and that they understand our struggles. It's all poppycock 😔

Nigel, if this was someone else being exposed, and not your friend, you would have reacted very differently. I'm a little disappointed. If you can't be unbiased because he and his wife are your friends, then please don't comment at all. There's too much of this Jekyll and Hyde stuff going on, particularly with highly paid media stars or rich elites. Many people suffer from depression, but they don't become sexual deviants as a result of the illness. Lets separate those two issues.

It is somewhat shocking to me that most of the coverage I've seen over the last hour can be summarized as "circling the wagons" around Huw rather than anything about the kid who is at the heart of this story. The fact is that there is a lascivious old man who was paying a 17 year old for pornographic pictures of himself. That's a crime, both literally and morally. (The age of consent is 16, but my understanding is that the law rightfully says that naked pictures of anyone under 18 is child pornography....and so this is a case about child pornography, at least for the first year it was happening). So let's get some perspective. Huw is not the victim here...the young man is. Huw also is not deserving of sympathy...the young man is.

@@kirks7143 The only way I can see that no crime was committed was if there were no naked images shared in the first year of this "relationship" (e.g. naked images only happened after the young man turned 18).. I agree that that is unlikely, but I guess it is possible. Either that or the police think that it would be difficult to get a judge or jury to convict so they are just saying no crime happened. But the most likely explanation is that they are "circling the wagons".
