It’s ok, seeing these torture tests with your own eyes tells you the equipment can take a serious beating and keep on trucking.

Those sway arms fall off. You have to drill a hole on the end with the ears and use a washer and cotter pin. I have a 54” and I mow 2 rough acre’s every 4 days in the summer in Florida and it’s a long summer. I’m going on my 6th season. My fabricated deck is nearly like new. My sway arm came off though. Bent all up when I went in reverse. Had to get new one and modify it. One thing I don’t like is if build up gets caught under the front wheel guides it will plow a rut and dig up turf. I have to keep adjusting the deck height using the adjustment on the front of the deck.

That rod that was dangling off the backside of deck is the Anti-Sway bar...I think it helps keep the deck from moving side to side. I have same model as your mower and my anti sway bay came off at the same spot as yours...not a big deal to reinstall.

Do U know what the Torque specs are for the bolts when replacing the blades, and are they normal lefty loosy, righty tighty? Thanks. I have the same machine, 3rd year and I take care of it and have none of the issues this one exhibits. Thanks. :)

The operator's manual says the blade bolts should be torqued to 45-55 ft lbs. Righty Tighty, lefty loosey is correct. This guy is hard on his equipment and he knows it. Thanks for watching.

At the 2:30ish mark of the video you show a rod "that is supposed to be mounted up under the tractor". Does that rod serve any purpose and where does that loose end attach to?

  • @RealManSkills

The loose end of that rod goes into a hole on the frame of the tractor when you mount the deck. I think it helps stabilize the deck.

I will. For the record, the owner of this tractor mows his grass a lot and very short. It takes him about 3 hours every time. He is not easy on his equipment. Your tractor will probably last longer than his. Thanks for watching.

I saw that portion of the deck and thought it looked like a failure point. That section on the deck is just not heavy duty enough. I saw that and decided to keep looking for a mower. Your video confirms my original estimation that this is a design flaw.

It's unfortunate that a "fabricated" would have such a problem. It would certainly seem to be better the a "stamped" deck that is more common. Thanks for watching!

@@undergroundpatriot1714 Good luck. I bit the bullet and purchased a JD x350, 48". I wanted something heavy duty enough to get the job done and not fall apart. The JD x350 is holding up well after my second season.
