Thanks for the informative video! I am in the process of deciding if I will change to a KTM 790 or Husqvarna 701. Have - with my 180 cm hight - second thoughts about the seat hight of the 701. Motivating to see that you found a way to handle the 701 with 163 cm! Btw, the chicken sound reminds me of the years I lived in the Philippines.

Great review. I have bought a KTM 690 Enduro R in the States which currently lives with an old buddy of mine near Boston. I’m in the UK. We have a 4,000 mile trip planned for next year and a bit of a leap of faith but I’ve heard very little bad that would be a deal breaker. You added to my confidence!

This bike has just been super durable and reliable. and just easier to maintain without all the fairings. when I ride with other big bikes on a trip the only thing is that I can't sustain going as fast as them for the long haul because I'm working harder to fight the wind on the motorways and really had to hammer on the throttle to gain speed which is fatiguing. But I just don't even bother now. I just either go on my own or meet up at the destination

I bought myself a Husky MX '23 enduro myself and can pick it up at the end of This week i am extremly excited. First things i will change will be the seat cushion. I think its quite harsh on longer tours. great Video 👌🏽 liked the chikens in the background 😅

Nicely done video on the 701. I've gone the two bike route for ADV with a 890 Adventure S and a husky 501. But, I always wanted the 701/690 and who knows, maybe one of these days I'll sell some bikes and simplify.
@TrackOurJourney

I am not simplified myself, I also still have my 750 GS. I am torn because 701 is great overall but it's still a thumper, not as comfy as the GS, but just takes some getting used to. Although it's hard to get used to it when you keep switching to comfy bikes lol. I've thought about the 501 but i got discourage of the more frequent maintenance.

@@TrackOurJourney Yes, the frequency of oil changes and maintenance is a serious consideration. I am adding a larger capacity clutch cover from Australia and a Warp 9 Cush drive to try to offset some of the possible issues coming from running a dirt bike on the road for more miles than it was really designed for. I’d like to do the BDRs so that was my major decision in jumping on the 501.

I took it to a suspension shop a while back and lowered it 2 inches and got it measured for my weight. I had change the adjustments many times slightly when carrying on the bike and when I took to the track. it's very easy.

playing with suspension is easy, 1st off ensure the springs are within the right range for your weight and SET THE SAG per the manual - then simply note your clickers start point - ride familiar ground, realise if better or worse and continue - as a racer i implore you to do this BUT only adjust in small areas and never all 3 settings in one go, understanding what lo-hi and rebound will do is paramount consider: when adjusting compression you need to consider doing the opposite direction on the rebound, not in equal amounts maybe but certainly consider it ever see bikes back ends just wallowing and dipping into mounds/dips? hi speed is too soft, go in half turn, repeat
