I just picked up a barely used 2016 model 555. The 555 is NOT and XP model, but shares many elements of the 562 XP. Same bore and stroke, same chassis. The 555 uses a small bar mount while the 562 XP uses a large bar mount. The 555 is purposely de-tuned and makes its power over broader curve when compared to the 562XP which has crank stuffers and is a bit more "peaky". The 562 XP also has rev-boost which the 555 lacks. Both the 555 and 562XP have Autotune carbs. The listed max bar length for the 555 is 20". I run an 18" bar on mine and its perfect. Long story short, the 555 is not an XP model, but it's a significant upgrade over the lower priced clamshell saws in the 400 series.

I have a 555 they are sweet saws, but its not a xp saw it came whith a 24 inch bar from the dealer and the owners manual confirms it can run a 24 incher.

These are nice saws, mine runs a 24 inch with a full comp chain with no problem

So they do have an XP? Only see the non XP on the website. What would be the difference? Sorry for the incognito question but haven't found a definite answer. I know it means eXtreme Performance but wasn't sure if that means more RPMs. One dealer told me the XP meant commercial grade but another told me if it starts with a "5" (example 555 vs 455) means its commercial grade. Thanks!

I have this saw, I don't know what I'm doing, but this thing is junk. I have taken it to the shop and they can never get it right. It has really put a sour taste in my mouth.

Yea that's what I say lol but it's got 4.4 hp I guess it could Handle it I'd run a 20 tho
