My Wife has a XT225 bought new in 2006, I have the XT250 bought new in 2015. We will never sell them. The XT is a bulletproof bike. The XT is just as good. We have fun trail riding every where we go.

Looks like the Deuce and a Quarter went everywhere the Husky did for less than a third of the cost. Maybe not as quickly, but she got there. Nothing wrong with that 428 chain, lightweight. I'm even running the standard non O ring version on mine with good results so far. Less than $20 and has less friction, which adds a little pep to the modestly powered 225. Difference can actually be felt between the 2 chains.

Juan, you two bring back some wonderful memories of riding in South Western Oregon. A Consolidated PBY crashed in 1945 or 1946 on the South fork of the Chetco River. We used to ride in to it before the Kalmiopsis Wilderness over took it. I also found a Mooney Mark 21 that had did a controlled crash on the side of Canyon Peak(about halfway between Brookings, Oregon & Obrian, Oregon) while I was working on my P.P.L. in 1963 or 64. The pilot had survived but tried to walk out and didn't make it. The Mooney burned up when the last forest Fire went through the area a few years ago. The tanks still had fuel in them when we walked in back in 1964/65. A Husky won the Christmas Valley 100 mile endurance race I was in in 1972. Great bikes.

Enjoy all your videos. Rode & raced dirt bikes for 30 years. Of the 10 bikes I owned, my favorite was my 400 2 stroke Husky. I don't think there are many single track trails in the Tahoe National Forest I haven't ridden on. Rode the Rubicon many times. Looking forward to more of your videos. My daughter lives in Nevada City. Maybe when we can't handle the Truckee winters anymore we can find a spot there. Thanks, Paul T

Our favorite ride was a "mudder" called Gazos Creek Road in the Santa Cruz hills. In the winter, they would close the road (dirt fire road) and mark it "impassable". Challenge accepted! About 20 miles of many times liquid mud over to the beach. Awesome fun! The dollar car washes got a workout those days - Bikes, truck AND riders all needed hosing down.

Classic! What's better than getting a ride in with a friend...and talkin' smack the whole time? Short riders unite! The TW200 has been my choice for fun, but I got a buddy to pick up an XT225 Serow earlier this year as his first dual-sport for all of the same reason you realized from riding Jenny's. What a great, light, affordable little trail bike...with a 6th gear. We ride together in videos on my channel. Great stuff as always, Juan!

A WR450F you say? I know somebody with one of those. I sometimes let him tag along on rides. He can never get that fancy FI bike restarted on the trail though. Hopefully, you know what you're doing and have better luck with yours!

When I started watching this video I didn't realize that you were the aircraft accident guy. I watched it because I have an xt250 and I enjoy watching the comparison between it and and much better motorcycles. It's obvious that if you're not racing it doesn't matter what your riding. It's great to see you and your buddy just out having fun. I've turned into an old man and that's what me and my buddy are contemplating right now. It's a time and money thing. I know this is an old video but I thought I would comment anyway.

WR250R: Except for the weight (300 lbs) and its height. I'm 6' 1" and there are times in the technical stuff that the height/weight can DEFINITELY be a factor to deal with. When I start looking at the $20K invested in my 2015 Beta 300RR ($9K bike and $11K extras) it's a little bit daunting. But after crossing the 100 mile point of hard singletrack in a day, I'm still happy and some of my buddies are wishing they were back at home on the couch. It all depends on your chosen terrain. Something like the little Serow would be a hoot on the easier trails but a lot of our black diamonds in the PNW challenge a well sorted and modern 300 to the max.
