After dropping the 2100 off at the Husqvarna dealer they would not touch it... too old and they were worried they would not be able to get parts...
So I started thinking... over the winter I put a new sprocket in... while in there I found the oiler was packed full of sawdust... so I cleaned it out... On this saw the crank seal on this side is in the oiler...
I'm thinking that all that packed in oil soaked sawdust might have been acting as a seal... so when I removed sawdust if the crankshaft seal wasn't up to snuff it would be sucking in air...
so I removed everything and found the seal is junk... I have one on the way... hope that resolves my issues... well at least the ones with my saw
I had to order the one seal that was mucked up so I won't be getting back to this for a couple of days...

I just traded for a 2100cd today, it needs some work, ignition problem. I appreciate you showing me your work. Fortunately I know how to rebuild saws... This is my first 6 cube saw too.

They are so great saws! I have a Husqvarna 285 CD .... Of which Husqvarna models fit the oil pump gear wheel?? On my saw it has damaged striped teeth. Four teeth were damaged. I think it's hard to find in the services.

They really were not a chainsaw shop... they were a Husqvarna dealer but if you've been to a real chainsaw shop you know the difference... I only went there because I figured they being Husqvarna could look at it... I was wrong I finished putting my saw together today (I'm uploading the video right now of putting everything back in) I was able to start it but it quickly died... my genius level of intelligence quickly found this issue... I was out of gas :) the mix I run is at the cabin... so I'll bring it down this weekend and test it out... between stihl and husqvarna I would buy a stihl though... we have more dealers around and this better chance of getting good service... I got the husky because it was used and the price was right... sometimes you end up paying for the lower price in the end... I'll get her working myself... or find a real chainsaw shop...

Yea, that is my issue. We have really good sthil shops around here. I like husqvarna but I really think sthil is better. I used to work for a landscaper and we ran alot of both. Between saws, blowers, weed eaters edgers whatever. Overall the sthils were better, as in lighter weight wise, ran better and more reliable.

I am technically not a mechanic but I have fixed most my own stuff to since I hate the dealers laughing at me for using tools that are older than me. I keep about 50 fuel filters on hand and probably around a lot of primer bulbs to. How much was a new muffler for that one and can I use my extra 3120 muffler on this saw? Also do you know what the piston diameter is. Word of advice buy a piston stop they cost like ten buck and are very helpful I have used mine several times. Wondering how much does this saw weigh? I only weigh 185 lbs and am 5' 10" or 6 ft 2 with my boots on. I love the boots and I better they took like 500 miles and 6 months to break in. Cant complain I have about 15 chainsaws so I think I am getting to be a addict not to mention half a dozen weedwackers and 8 functioning backpack leafblowers which is absolutely retarted since I don't even use the blowers but maybe 5 hrs a year. Three kawas and three stihls, one husq(runs but not usable) full compression but cracked motor mounts(356btx)worst blower, and 4 echo's an a redmax an a hitachi. If anyone wants a old blower and has something nice to trade in tucson let me know. Most only need a strap, exhaust bolt or a new gas cap breather.

THATS DEFINITELY NOT A 2100 cylinder head on that saw….
