HUSKY vs. YUKON Work Bench Comparison
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I'm doing a side-by-side comparison of the HUSKY and YUKON mobile work Bench. Who will come out on top? Watch and find out! As I pick apart both the Home Depot and Harbor Freight flag ship of tool storage in this video.
UPDATE
I made this video in November 2019, the Husky model in the video, the drawers are rated at 100 lbs. each. The current model that Home Depot sells, the bottom drawers are 200 lbs each while the tops drawers are 100 lbs each.
Additionally, because of inflation and the current market, the price does not reflect the price in the video.

Thanks for taking the time for this comparison. It looks like Husky upped their game. Now my son and wife knows what to get me for father's day!
This is a great side by side. Ive looked at both of these in person and never realized the Husky was six inches deeper
Just purchased the Yukon and it is well made and worth every red American penny 😂
Great video. Exactly the comparison I was looking for. Thanks!
I went to the Harbor Freight with that 25% coupon clipped, thinking it was a deal of the year. During the checkout, they told me the 25% discount coupon does not apply with the Yukon Work Bench and I walked away feeling cheated. I'm glad that I didn't get one. After watching this video, I should get the Husky instead, paying full price. Great review, thanks.
The Husky is made so much better they improved it over the years. I went in recently to look at both of them. I opened the top drawer on the Yukon, it shook all over the place. I opened the top drawer on the Husky, It felt nice and solid. Plus the Husky comes with the integrated power strip and it's also 6 in deeper so it's a much better buy
Great comparison !! Was actually about to buy the Yukon . Very glad I saw this !!! Will be buying the Husky !!!!
I've had an older version of that Husky work bench (no power cable) and it has served me well for 10+ years now. It has a developed an issue where drawers on the right side will now only open half-way. Before you start thinking it is a Husky defect, please understand that after a move about five years ago I ended up urgently needing some of my tools as soon as the moving company unloaded at our new home and I could not find the keys to unlock the box. All I had on hand was a large flat-head screwdriver and a hammer, which I then used to beat the lock mechanism in so that I could get the lock bars to release and gain access to my tools. Props to Husky for the lock mechanism, for it was actually stronger than I expected and took some effort to break it. I would absolutely buy another Huskey again. One of the best Christmas gifts my wife ever bought me!

I have two older units as well. I've owned them for about 6 years now. I haven't had any issues. They are a great bargain compared to the higher end brands. Thank you for your reply!
Thank you so much for this detailed and thorough comparison. Your video helped me decide on the Yukon as a kitchen island. I'm on my way to Harbor Freight to use a coupon so I'll pay $377 + tax for the 46" Yukon. Thank you again!
Great comparison, thank you
I just got the Yokon for its smaller size, and smaller price. Going forward the $100 more for Husky will be well worth it! One thing I noticed about both is that top drawer needs a strong pull to get it open.
Are the drawer deeper on the husky as it is deeper from the outside
I really appreciate this review! thank you for going so much more in-depth that the other reviews I've seen. You sold me! A note about these two tool chests: CA Prop 65 requires companies to tell customers when they will be exposed to hazardous chemicals while using a product, and Harbor Freight says the Yukon can expose users to lead and a carcinogen called Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP). It is possible that both chests present the same exposure and Yukon is being more honest about it, but there's no way for a lay-person to know. Anyway, thanks for the review! I found it super helpful! You've got a new subscriber.

bro that means absolutely nothing. If you go buy an apple at whole foods they have that stupid prop 65 sticker on it.
Great review.
Thanks bro.. big help. Husky it is
The Yukon is on sale this Memorial Day for 315 vs (with military discount) the Husky for 404. That’s a pretty sizable difference between the two
Subbed good info.👍🇺🇸
Thanks for the detailed video / comparison!!.... Do you think that either one of these are capable or sturdy enough to mount a vise to the top? Thanks!!
@Oxman_Garage

If you unbolt the top wood top on the bench you can secure a vise on there, yes.
Is the wood top bolted down now on the husky? It wasn't in the older models.
@Oxman_Garage

The Husky comes with a wood top, already bolted down. Is that what you're asking?
After watching you review these two cabinets it's clear I wouldn't want either of them!

Which brand that looks like this configuration would you recommend??
How is the wood top attached on each of these? Also was insides of both painted?
@Oxman_Garage

There are four screws that attach the wood top. You need to pull out the top siding drawer.
You got a great deal on the Husky (actually on both)! The Husky is now $450 and the Yukon on sale is $370 this week. Inflation, I guess... I either pony up the current cost, or wait and see if it goes back down. Nice review, thanks. Will probably have to go Husky, especially if and when it goes on sale.

Absolutely inflation. Everything that I buy is literally 25-75% more than it was just a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, my earning have not increased likewise.

I ended up getting one like new off of Facebook Marketplace for $325. It's the one with the flip-up table on the backside (I think around $600 new). Good deals are out there, but I guess you have to be patient.
I had no idea that the the Yukon used riv-nuts to attach the casters. Riv-nuts will not hold up over time if you actually move the box around. That said, neither box is intended for working mechanics. These boxes are both light-duty homeowner type boxes. The duel-bank US General from Harbor freight is more a pro-sumer type box, the kind of thing that will stand up very well for hobbyists and hardcore DIYers. The HF Icon boxes are actual mechanic quality boxes.
Right now theyre $50 apart in price. 13% more money for 25% more storage capacity.
Not quite sure if it was intentional or not that the toolboxes are backwards in your thumbnail... You have the Yukon under the Home Depot Husky label and the Husky under the Harbor Freight Yukon label...

Today's date that husky tool box is $500 plus tax the Yukon at today's date can be purchased at $350 plus tax which one is worth it in 2023 with inflation price?

I have both. Just bought the Yukon simply for the savings on Memorial Day and I call it a storage box for tools with tabletop. I just won't put pressure on drawers.
So between the 448 dollar husky 46” and the 419 dollar yukon the husky is better?
@Oxman_Garage
Жыл бұрын
The Husky is bigger, has a power strip, built stronger.
It's a no-brainer on the extra $50
is it possible to duplicate the Husky keys at a Home Depot or something?
@Oxman_Garage

That would be a question for Husky Tools to get duplicate keys. I don't know if they can cut those keys. Reach out to your local HD and Husky. 800-325-3558 sales@husky.com
The added depth on the Husky was the deal breaker for me so going with it. Too bad these have really increased in price. Going with the grey for a small increase, but still $518 total.

So they're the same size but the Husky has nearly twice as much room? Something isn't adding up.

Not sure where you got your information on the drawer weight capacity, But you're wrong about the Husky the bottom drawers are the same as the Harbor Freight at 200 lbs. Note the 4 drawer slides per drawer all of them are rated at 50 lbs each. They both have 4 of them for the bottom drawers.
@Oxman_Garage

Hi William, thank you for your reply. At the time I made this video was November 2019 the information on the Home Depot website stated "100 lbs each drawer." If you look at the description on the current 46" mobile workbench you are correct, each slide is rated at 100 lbs each slide. I will update that info in my description for newer Husky models. Thank you.
i got 3 huskys i love the size of these monsters you can have harbor f there is no way i buy a harbor f one...i like harbor f so with that said husky are very nice draws are long...fit alot in them...love them...
Why has the Husky price gone up to $449 in just 1 month.
