    Also realize there is a downside in having to use "wipes" which have to be replaced after a certain number of rounds fired. I'm not sure I like the idea of having to use/replace disposable parts.

    The idea of bringing a slide lock to market with such a ubiquitous platform is fantastic, and not to be overlooked for those of us constantly pursuing a more pleasant, and cooler, shooting experience. However, for what appears to be 3-4 machine operations to install, the price is a little rich for me. No modification on the frame, or slide refinishing, and the latch working directly with one of the unmodified frame rails makes me think this process is worth more in the ballpark of $200 or less.

    For ANY suppressor, you need a rubber wipe, it’s the last wall that the bullet penetrates. It balloons out slightly and tremendously helps with reducing sound. Sandwich one in. Small sheets of 1/16” reinforced rubber can be bought in most any plumbing dept. That’s part of how we made truly Hollywood quiet silencers back in the 60’s. That and steel wool with lots of grease. But this was for only a few quiet kill shots, not to blast 200 rounds during a fantasy operator range day. Your job dictates. Now you know what to do when the job calls for it.

  • @mikeDstoker

    @mikeDstoker

    7 ай бұрын

    Yeah that's not how that works. The $200 tax stamp is for the initial purchase of the suppressor. The wipe is considered a part of the suppressor which can be "repaired" and is not subject to the tax stamp again. No different than if you had a baffle strike or end cap strike where you send it in for repair. This one you use the accessory module to send back all the used wipes and it is replaced with fresh wipes and sent back. Simple

    @UN-intelligent from my understanding, you can send extra wipes with the can. But I'm meaning once they are destroyed and need replacement. If you make your own replacements, you technically commit a felony by "manufacturing without a license", and would need to send the can in for servicing. Did I mention how absolutely retarded the ATF is, and that all laws are infringement? Even those clowns don't know their own "rules". But we better know them so we know when to call bullshit on their actions. Watch out for gray area traps. Ignorance to a law is no defense, and gun charges are often upgraded to felonies.

    You guys should make a hard plastic dowel and sell it as an extra for $45... people will buy it as most folks are literally to lazy to go buy a dowel and cut it to size. So offer it with the sale as a "pro" package and throw in some extra wipes and a cloth bag for it all and boost the price by $100 easily.

    Depending on the weapon and the ammo a suppressor might not cycle the weapon, but it might have enough oomf to push the bolt face back and let gas out of the ejection port. Since expanding gas is loud and you want your weapon to perform exactly the same with every trigger pull, it's better to just lock the slide.

    Someone finally did it legitimately. For years, I've simply stopped the slide from cycling by placing my thumb behind the slide. People constantly say things like "you're going to break your thumb" blah blah blah... You won't. The force of the recoil is just enough to overcome the recoil spring. it's the momentum that can cause damage. If the momentum never get a chance to get going, there is no danger. If you think the slide can break your thumb if you hold it forward, you- A- don't understand physics B- have a bitch made thumb and need to drink milk or C- You are weak and will not survive I might just buy one of these simply to support a manufacturer that FINALLY made a hush puppy switch for the Glock.

    I hate how videos like this never used anything for measuring the sound levels such as a decibel meter or something, just from watching the video viewers are not gettting a true representation of the difference between the two sounds and I just looked up decibel meters on amazon and they are not expensive

  • @akseminole

    Well, the standard answer that I’ve seen is that Real decibel meters cost 10-20k and the things that they sell on Amazon aren’t really decibel meters. They will work, but their measurements aren’t as accurate as “real” decibel meters, and their output is basically subjective to the environment that they are used in and how they are used. Aka they will give you a ballpark guesstimate, not a “legal” measurement. Or something like that.
