Greg shows duping delight in every interaction. That's a covert smirk from being pleased about tricking the person he is talking to. Pause the video to freeze his face and you can see it. In other words, every interaction is another gamble for him - will he get away with his lies or not? - that's what gives him a thrill. It's just like when he bet against Gail without the cards to back it up. This guy's brain is 100% conditioned to look for the next gamble, not to figure out a way to care for his wife and future child. HOWEVER. At core, he likes to WIN. That's why he excelled at the baby challenge. It was a game to him and he was willing to throw everything he had at it. If that aspect of his mind could be redirected, he could become a guy who excels at everything in his life.

While his behaviour in the show was surprising and encouraging, that single-minded focus on the baby is a character trait... that kind of focus can as easily apply to gambling again, if there isn't a sustained huge daily change. So I wish them luck.

Letting a gambling addict be a dealer is like letting an alcoholic bartend,………maybe after rehab or counseling….but it’s just too enticing to an addict. Gail dropped the ball here.

Karla, you're the real high stakes gambler in this casino of life! Greg is chump change compared to the wager you're placing!

  • @kathleengeiger7083

Greg doesn't think he needs to work on getting out of debt - because I guarantee you, he is still thinking that the next bet or a big win will pay it all off - so why bother? I've seen how gambling addicts think and they are delusional. I found Karla online but I can't tell if she married Greg.

If I was Karla, I'd move on, but, I'm not Karla. If she does stay with Greg, I would not marry him for a looong time, until he proves he isn't addicted to gambling, could pay off his debt and could save money. I also would keep our money separate and there is NO WAY I would have joint credit cards with him.

Gail is out of her depth with a lot of these people. Shopping addictions, cigarettes and booze, gambling - sometimes years of therapy are needed to solve these. In this case, where are clear addiction issues, she should not be in any way encouraging Karla to think that there is a quick fix for Greg. He needs years of a 12 step program and even then he is likely to relapse. I hope Karla found someone else.

Here we have another women with a gambling addict and again, am wondering what are these women doing with man like this? Love is the only answer i have. Gambling addiction is still an addiction. The compulsive element is very much a thing and if that's not properly addressed, you are just putting a bandaid on the problem.
