Y’all my advice to anyone who is living in an area that will be impacted by hurricane Florence, i was impacted my hurricane Irma and let me tell you, by the time it got to where I live (Florida) it was like a category 2 or 3 and huge oak trees fell onto people’s driveways, thank god it didn’t fall on anyone’s houses. There was trees in the road making it hard to drive. Wind was blowing lake water in the air, shit was flooding, all I could hear was things hitting the shutters all day, and there was no power for a little more than a week. It was humid, I slept on my marble floor because it was the only thing cold. It was pitch black and we had to use flashlights, there was no good food to eat because power was off, couldn’t wash clothes or take proper showers. It was hell and I encourage everyone to take this seriously and gtfo if you can afford it. If not then try to stay safe and I’m praying for you guys.

I agree. I was also hit my hurricane Irma but I live on St. Maarten and is was a category 5 then with winds going over 200mph. The hurricane went directly over my house and we even got the eye of it where for about 15 minutes there was barely any wind, but after that, we got the worst of the hurricane. My neighbors roof peeled off of their house and slammed into the side of mine and then was thrown onto my car. These huge 150 year old trees were ripped out of the ground like weeds and the seas were so intense the waves were reaching over 30 feet in height. I live 300 meters from the beach (like I can see the ocean from my bedroom) and we had the streets flooded. However many people who live right on the shore line where swept out of their homes when monstrous waves barred through their houses and then dragged them out to sea. This was the worst hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic. I think the most important thing to do is to stick together and stay positive.

you know what I don't get ...I see people leave comments like "Prayers up" or "God bless everyone" and they're inundated with people commenting such negative and sarcastic things like "yeah, good luck with that" or "God? lol"... Look, I'm all for letting people believe in what they want (especially during situations like this). If you're religious cool, if not then cool too. How come people just can't let people be? Some people just have really extreme secularist views that like to harass or condemn people who show any public display or faith. They go around preaching of intolerance from religious people when they themselves have personal animosity towards religion. Partially because they’re fed a lot of bull crap about how religion is the root of all problems while living in countries that have directly benefited from Judeo Christian values. Or in short, some people just can’t help being assholes. Who cares? Religious people can have the satisfaction of knowing these assholes live miserable little lives where they’re convinced that they serve no purpose, nothing they ever do will ever be of any significance, and when they die no one will remember them and they’ll just rot in the ground. And best of all, even if there really is no God, the atheists won’t be able to say “I told you so” after death. So there’s that.

I live in Carolina beach and I’m literally 10 minutes away from the edge of the island where it’s the ocean. I saw a tiny clip of a nearby gas station flooded so badly, and I go past that Scotchman EVERY DAY on the schoolbus going home. I never thought that a hurricane could be so harmful since I’ve never been in one before. I know that the weather channels stress on to us how serious it it, and i didn’t even see the gas station with my own eyes since I had evacuated already. But when I saw the flooding on the tv, feelings of devastation and realness took off in my mind, and it feels like I’m actually there standing, watching the waters possibly control my near future. I hope that everyone who is affected by the storm will eventually get back on top and thrive after if they’ve been swept off their feet from Florence. If you’re not currently affected by any storms or hard times right now, i urge you to not take things for granted and continue to benefit the people and little things around you.

You do know that wind causes barely any deaths from hurricanes? More than 90% of deaths are from the water and flooding.

We in Puerto Rico went through hurricane Maria last year and we know how hard it can be before and after the storm. I pray for all the people in the east coast of USA. BE STRONG 🙌

Thank you Lauren London it's a frightening time for everyone, because I have friends and family all over the world! And a couple of my friends had recently past through South Carolina! So these storms have effected myself and my friends and family! I have seen at first hand what these storms can do! I should know because In my younger days, myself and my friends use to dare-out on our boats in these unpredictable conditions! It was a crazy hobby of ours! Well, since I got married, my wife gave me the ultimatum! "Remain married or continue with my suicidal sports lol!" Obviously I took option A! I wish everyone to be safe and all their family and friends pets included, to remain out of the shoreline! The most dangerous hotspots will be headon right up to the coastline! Right up the coastline they figured that winds will reach upto a staggering 125 miles per hour! At the coastline it will increase a lot more, and that's just the begining!

I have never experienced a hurricane, tornado, tsunami, etc. I pray for everyone in this hurricane's path and anyone going through tough times in general. I still get a little bit scared when it hails, so I can't imagine how anyone could stay in one piece during a hurricane. I love and pray for you all, stay strong and be an optimist about things. 💕🙏

I live in NC and where I am we’re not supposed to really evacuate. Literally I had school all this week except for today (Thursday) and Friday. I don’t know anybody that lives in my area that’s actually evacuating. Right now it’s 5:30 PM on Thursday and all I’ve gotten is some rain, but tomorrow is when it’s going to get worse. I’m scared but I think it might be okay. We’re somewhat prepared except we don’t have a generator. Guys please stay safe, and if you live in SC get out!

Sending my thoughts and prayers, that solces everything.

Just to put it in perspective Katrina was a cat 3 but not as huge as this one. Carolinas if you are still near the coast get out immediately. Be safe.

I remember that at NC State, the classes were canceled and it rained for 4 days straight. I have never been more scared. Thankfully, we did not take the worst of the storm.

I Stay in North Carolina in holden beach it was beautiful today and now you can look toward the ocean and see black clouds slowly coming today was the calm before the store everywhere is closed we going to try and ride this thing out we didn't have the money to leave we get paid on Fridays but things are starting to look as if the monster is in definitely out there and slowly making it's way to us is crazy how I went from beautiful day to dark and scary reality is starting to set in that everyone is gone and there not coming back till it's over I just hope we make it through this one I have 3 kids here with us it's a shame the company I work for is all safe and God forbid they paid us two days early the inland and safe and I'm 5 miles from the ocean with my kids but I work my ass off all week every week for these people and this is my payback I don't think I'll be going back to work after this or at least not with these people I would understand more if it was the sate or a nation wide company but it's a personal owned million dollar company hell my dad is a state work and gets paid on Fridays he go a call this am saying he was paid early to please get out of North Carolina even the state paid employees early but not the low life's I work for lol keep us in your prayers people

Nicholas Clemmons You mentioned your dad is a state employee and was paid today and told to get out of NC. Is he close enough to Holden Beach to come retrieve you and your family? If not, are you near a place that could be considered a designated shelter?

Nicholas Clemmons Have you tried to at least contact your local police department to request assistance or at least notify them that you are attempting to shelter in place? I'm struggling to understand why no one at your employer helped you or at least offered transportation to a safer location (family or friend's home). I worry for your children.

The news told us we had a category 4 coming, and it came but it was just a bunch of rain and wind. We lost power for 3 days but it wasn't "Life or death". Wishing y'all are okay 🙂

Oh, I remember my 1st birthday.. Crashed by Hurricane Ike, I’ve only been through 2 hurricanes in my life, because I’m only 10, I’ve been through Harvey and Ike. Idk if I’ve been through anymore tbh. I’ve gotten some rain from Matthew but I didn’t actually go through it.

This is an opportune time to see God's miraculous hand at work! I live in Council, NC 45 miles from the coast! I'm praying God turns it back into the ocean or causes it to die right in its track! Where are my believers at!!? Touch and agree with a like!! Is there anything to hard for God!!?? Nope!! Show your mighty hand Abba Father! There is a remnant of believers that trust you!!

Thanks for your reply, I know I should not test god, and I am saved... and well about to test that theory, I'm in a Trailer 40 miles away from this str8 on... I have no friends or Family to help me, I have my wife and my 76 yr old Mom who I'm there for, I just watched my 99 1/2 yr old grandma die sent home from hospice care the last yr... and lived in a brick house till then... but Family torn apart because she left us her house worth 50 k while my family make big $ has turned against us and call us scum because they weren't in the will and did nothing for her .. she had a small 5 Trailer court behind her House I was maintenance and being there for her and my mom and my wife helping, no kids... now the house is sitting and people are stealing while its been sitting, while We moved to a property that renters tore to crap we tried to help for 200 an mth .. I just got it fixed over this hot summer and did the work by myself livable and now this, its been one thing after another...even if we survive then I get to see my mom die as shes in bad health my wife has asthma and no insurance for inhalers Obama took Primatene mist off the market that people need... and buy from others who are willing to sell her grandma died at 55 from an asthma attack... we have no $ to leave for a hotel room... been through too much and as believers in God and doing the right thing, and one thing after another... I worry about my wife and Mom and is the only "purpose" thus far... but God has to realize $ a job good people come my way,''friends" etc, is what I/we need...We moved from GA and sold out there to be here for her...and well... it's the way it goes, I'm so tired, thanks for reading my life's paperback book... you stay a blessing in this world ok, take care

Raa505 they say its worst now because its not going as fast as it was going before, it will be there longer than expected = More rain.

I came home early from school today and wanted to watch tv. The news channel came first and it showed people swimming and surfing before the hurricane

That's a big ass storm barely missed me in Mississippi praying for the ones involved.
