@@jaredstasch9691Well how often do we get data straight from the inside of an ocean hurricane? I imagine this data will allow us to better understand where the effects of the hurricane are the worst, the average size of the waves compared to the size of the hurricane. Basically shows us the best ways to survive if ever caught inside one

We do have pitch, roll, and yaw data. But it's only available for our customers (NOAA) in the Saildrone Mission Portal.

Okay I'm a retired Marine Engineer who is laughing his socks off, this is a biggish swell, once you've experienced 100+ high waves then you can start calling it a hurricane, and yes waves exceed 120 feet and when you're on a 253,000 tonne ship that's twisting 180 degrees from bow to stern as well as bending up and down, then you start to say WHY AM I HERE?

I wonder if it is possible to make a manned vehicle. Would be impossible to breathe or sleep, and you would have to be strapped in.

Amazing, but I don't see the 50 ft wave...

You'd be amazed if noaa put a speaker on here an let you hear just how intense this really is

It would probably just sound like blowing into a microphone and maybe some water droplet hits. It's not going to sound like something in a movie.

I so appreciate what you're doing. I honestly want to see what others are making a deal of. I see the waves in the ocean. It's easy to see it's a storm, but I don't understand what makes this a deal. I mean we know hurricanes make waves in the ocean. No disrespect, I just do not get it.

I believe this is a new thing; to have a video at sea level from inside a hurricane. Before now any video taken from inside a hurricane ends up at the bottom of the ocean when the vessel is overcome with rouge waves. RIP to all the brave sailors who never made it back to port.
