That's just the truth. The first time she came to him he didn't know. But he knew the second time. He didn't do such to Mahidevran and Gulsah or any of her maids even if she lost his favour. So I wonder why it was so with Hurrem. I hate that Maria was so eager to usurp Hurrem. From the moment Hurrem danced and drew Suleiman's eyes, that envy was there. It grew over time and escalated when Hurrem had her first pregnancy confirmed. It's okay to want what she did. She was there for the Sultan in the first place. But I hate that she was sneaking and the enemies of Hurrem knew and were enjoying knowing the secret and how much it would hurt Hurrem when she would find out. I admired Firuze for coming to Hurrem to say hers even if it was a challenge and strategy. If you're not guilty, you shouldn't hide. Sumbul knew what Maria was after the moment she chose to become a Muslim and he whispered this knowledge to Ibrahim who then made it happen. The sultan didn't even know she existed. Sumbul noticed her envy and then he took advantage of it. I hate that she now attempted to play victim that she was summoned and couldn't do anything about it. Suleiman's only fault to me was calling her a second time which was when Hurrem discovered the treachery. I felt it when she screamed that Maria was the only person Hurrem had trusted😐😐

I always wished we had gotten more from Gulfem's character. She really shined when she had her moments of strength.

People say that Suleiman cheated, but this was literally the culture. I don't really think Gulnihal betrayed Hurrem either. She is a Slave and she refused the sultans wishes, she could be put to death. Hurrem came from a different culture where people wrre expected to be monogamous, but was just not that way in the Ottoman royal family. All of the women who had been there for a while or were raised in it tried to tell her.

I blame them in this order : Maria, Sumbul, Hurrem, Ibrahim, Suleiman. Maria converting when Hurrem was confirmed pregnant. Sumbul smelled envy and ambition then told Ibrahim. I blame Hurrem because she deliberately antagonised Ibrahim. Let's not forget Ibrahim had no issue with Hurrem until she poked her nose into his secret romance with Hatice who was still friends with Hurrem then. That's when Ibrahim decided Mahi was right that Hurrem would harm them all and then used Maria. So Hurrem is at fault, then Ibrahim for the plot and finally Padisha Suleiman who apparently didn't care when he discovered Maria's connection to Hurrem

I've asked the same question everytime. She did everything to tear this gurl down. From making her feel like nothing but a vessel for a baby to ripping said infant from the mom before she even touched him. Something she'd never do to Mahidevran. This show goes out of its way to make their version of Suleiman cheat on Hurrem. From what I've read of actual history, Mehmet was born before Suleiman returned from campaign. Anyone else read that?

They were pretty exclusive, yes. It doesn't mean it had to have been romantic or that in all those years he not once made use of the fact that he had a harem, but it was pretty tame.

If Hurrem had just calmed the frack down, and watched her mouth and commentts and threats, she wouldnt have instagated so much hostility and schemes against her. Wouldnt have had so many enemies working against her.

I have a question; why do we never see that Mahidrevan has resentment against Ayse Hatun, who is depicted as being Suleiman's favorite before Hurrem? Or was Ayse going to Suleiman before Mahidevran arrived at the palace, so therefore she didn't know of Ayse?

Just leave aside his interest towards other concubines. After birth, He first checked on Hurrem and then only baby and was proudly and happily looked at her. This shows his love towards Hurrem. ❤

There is not a day that goes by when you do not learn something new about people, although I'll bet that's nothing compared to what you don't know. Suleiman, the father of Hurrem's child, sleeps with Maria, Hurrem's closest friend in life, leaving her alone as she went through a difficult birth. On top of that, the person that Hurrem was choking was none other than the culprit of the great injustice that was done to her that night. What's also crazy is that she choked Gulnihal/Maria, then saying she's her "best friend." She even threatened her with exile and being resold into slavery if she didn't do as she asked. I think that it was right then and there that Hurrem started losing it, if she hadn't already when she watched her family get slaughtered and got sold into slavery. Man, God protect us all from times and places such as that and praise be to Him that the Ottoman Empire now exists only in the pages of history and that godforsaken harem now being nothing more than a very bad memory.

I love how this is a great drama, but they got most of the history wrong intentionally 😂
