I’m really curious about what is the most frightening bit of wildlife that you have come across while rock hounding?

  • @Rookie_Rockounding

I love that, to be honest we know there’s snakes around and kind of do what we can to make sure we don’t cross their path but I’d have to say the wildlife that scares me most is Wild Dogs. There’s been an upturn in their presence this year so it’s a bit concerning. In saying that though, I’m just grateful we don’t have crocs down this way 😅

My friend's mother who was in her 90s when I did caregiving for her still insisted we go outside and look for rocks. She couldn't go far but I loved seeing her face light up like a child when she found something she liked. That was special. RIP Marianne. 🙏

So beautiful. It looks like you all had such a blast out there on that hunt. The places you go hunting in just leave me in awe. Just such phenomenal beauty. If I could ever travel to another country, Australia has ALWAYS been where I would go. And not for the cities, but for the wilderness. It has always fascinated me. As always another awesome video.

I had to tap out for a year or so and I can tell you if there’s ever a forgiving audience that we’re lucky enough to capture, it’s these good rock people. They see you for who you are and watch because you love sharing it. They’re real people and will be waiting to see what’s next for you mate. Sometimes they may not be the best specimens in the world but the buzz of you or anyone in the hunt finding a nice piece is priceless. To be able to capture some of those moments on video is invaluable. Saw the notification late last night but had to wait till this morning to watch another memorable video. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

The blue and pink two tone is cordiorite(iolite) check with dichroscope looks like smoky/ agate but it's doubly refractive and changed to that clear with the pink/red on the smoky is a dead giveaway. The blue sometimes looks black. I'd check without a point because cut right they can change 4 colors. It's what I primarily dig up here, found with chalcedony quartz, spinel(black ones are a sign to look for sapphires) iolite, silminite, beryl. I still need to send you some specimines alot of cats eye and unique inclusions up here. Good to see y'all back in the creek.
