Hunting Montana Mule Deer Rut with Randy Newberg (FT S3 E6)

Ойын-сауық

Hunting rutting Montana mule deer with Randy Newberg is always an adventure. Randy is joined by Tim Lesser, VP of Product Development at Leupold optics, as they brave some of the coldest weather you will see. When it is all done, this over-the-counter elk hunt ends up with a big Montana mule deer.

    Randy, you're one of my heros, I love your videos and you've inspired me to get involved with keeping public lands public. I've donated money to BHA and will be giving money to RMEF. I also called our local politicians here in Utah and voiced our opinion. Thanks for bringing so much awareness to this situation. Keep fighting the good fight.

    I'm still surprised that people can watch these videos and then give a thumbs down. Awesome hunt & even more, trying to film this in a way that other viewers can truly enjoy, making them feel as if they were on the hunt too, is incredibly tough. But yet, you & your crew make it look simple. Thanks to all involved.

    Nothing like hunting in the freezing cold. Two years ago me and my group were out in SE Montana hunting mule deer and the daytime highs were in the low single digits, if we were lucky! By the end of the day my beard was frozen solid. I wouldn't change a thing in the world for it, though. Ever do any hunting in that area?

    Hi Randy, hope all is well. I have really enjoyed your show much more then other hunting programs. Your show is authentic and isn't filled with gimmick programming to draw an audience. I grew up hunting in northern Wyoming but now live in southern Utah on the Paunsaugunt unit and literally live one mile from both the Dutton and Boulder Units. If you're ever hunting in southern Utah and need help, I would love to join you. I know how to glass and run a camera. Keep it up!

    Montana, though we don't give exact locations, out of respect for other hunters in those areas. When we even tell of a general area, a lot of people go there and it does have some impact on hunting pressure. I hope you understand that concern. Thanks for watching.

    I would love to hunt Mule Deer hopefully in the near future . One of my Favorite Mule Deer hunting stories is one I read in a Magazine and I have kept that Magazine in case I had to show it to someone , four friends who hunt together every year go after Mule Deer that year . His friends like most Hunters go after the largest racked buck but this one man's trophy is the distance of the shot , so he finds a Buck at 610 yards away and he shoots one time and drops the Buck . What RIfle and Caliber would most of you use for that shot at 610 yards ??? This Hunter used a .243 , I always thought that it was far too small and for that distance to me it just wasn't enough Rifle but according to the article that's what that Hunter used . Have any of you made a similar shot ???

  • @Fresh_Tracks

    @Fresh_Tracks

    6 жыл бұрын

    I've not taken a shot of that distance. Some are comfortable doing so. I'm not. I try to keep my shots under 400 yards, a distance at which a .243 is adequate.
