George hawking Thanks, good to hear you enjoyed it. Love the versatility of these hawks. Yes you’re right about slope soaring. Awesome to see them soaring a few hundred feet above.
Stunning sir. Always look forward to your films. I think this level of understanding is where we would like to be down the road. 👍

Bob Myerly Thanks Bob! I’m just there to create hunting opportunities and give them as much freedom as possible. Flying them as close to their wild state as possible at maximum weight, whilst retaining obedience.

A few ways of doing it. Go to a small hill to start with ensuring there's a light wind of around 10mph. Hold your bird at the top of the hill on your glove where the wind is directly onto the hill. You can have an assistant about 100ft down the hill and get them to recall the bird. When your bird flies to the lower person for a small reward, hide the reward as they get around 50ft away. The wind will push them a little higher as they open their wings. You then drag a dummy bunny or carcass that's been hidden earlier and your bird will stoop down to catch it. (give them a good feed) You can extend the session a little each time you go out. Eventually they will get the hang of it and start enjoying using the ridge lift and thermals getting up to hundreds of feet. Obviously take them out on land that has plenty of quarry so they realise that you're working as a team to hunt quarry for them. This way they stay close anticipating a good reward. This is positive reinforcement training.
