7:58 love when stores have that one random vhs tape. Sometimes, it's a few. But regardless happy to see a tape.

This kind of summarizes why I rarely bother shopping used shops anymore. $15 - $20 for a used non-boutique 4K sans digital copy is way too much considering you can likely grab them brand new for less.

My local used shops have 3 blu-rays for $10 canadian which is a steal of a deal. They never have any 4k's, but it's great for adding things to my collection which only have a bluray release or those that I don't care about having in 4k.

As a Canadian I hate watching videos like this since my dumb ass country no long even has places like this... So Jelly, so very jelly. 🙃🥺

I haven't watched True Grit since 2011-2012, but it's definitely up there as top tier Coen Brothers. It's crazy how fast time passes as I've always meant to go back and give it another watch. It's even crazier when I think about how much Hailee has accomplished in her career since I last watched True Grit.

Thanks for the fun video, DJ! I have a warm spot in my heart for "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." My parents took me to see it when it opened in 1971 (I was 9 years old) when we were vacationing in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Sure, it's not as great as "Mary Poppins," but I still think it's a good film (and that animated soccer match sequence is awesome.) Plus, Angela Lansbury is always worth watching.

great haul. true grit is a remake. the original was john wayne 1967 i believe.

In used dvd stored you can really see what the general public used to buy and the reason physical media is being replaced by streaming. So many of the same mainstream films and always so few of interesting boutique films. Even here in Hollywood, so many what I would never buy. Glad to see you got titles you wanted, the majority of the 100s of films I own are from used media stores. Mostly boutique.

Streaming isn't replacing physical media because you own nothing on a Streaming service. Physical media you own it and have it as long as you want. Streaming won't last physical media will be around for a long time.

collecting physical dvds is awesome but if you really want to be cheap about it, you can always pirate. It is very easy

Great video. Nice haul. I miss going out buying films, music and books in NYC once a month, spending 8 hours walking around in the 80's and 90's, spending $300 - $400 or more each trip. Can't do it anymore. Quite a few very good movies you've picked up. As far as THE JOKER is concerned, I'm on the side of "I liked it very much" fence. As usual, Joaquin Phoenix gives an excellent performance.

Barb and Star is a hilarious film and a great summer movie :)

I’m in Utah and we used to have Hastings then they closed down luckily we have Entertainmart which is basically the same thing

To Catch a Thief is good, but Grant’s wardrobe is superb in that one. Happy to see you got True Grit! It’s one of my favorite Westerns of all time and arguably my favorite Coen Brothers’ film. When you were in the As at that first store, Allied stood out. If you haven’t seen that I would recommend it. Not a masterpiece, but I found it quite good on a number of levels.

great hunting, unfortunately we don't have second hand media stores like what you have in san diego like we used to have. all we have here is goodwills and one book off like 30 miles away. not like we had before with those used record stores. there is one I want to go to in la mesa, ca its called reanimated records but it was always closed when i tried to go there.

U must not have watched the Loki TV show it holds up just as good as Wanda Vision. However, we need more Shang-Chi.

$30 is such a good price for Wandavision

Wow never thought about trying game exchange, didn’t even realize they sold movies. Also has to be the best 2nd hand copies of movies and shows I have ever seen. All slipcovers and complete sealed boxsets?!?! Thats insane where is this?

I liked Violent Night pretty well. It’s no Anna and the Apocalypse, but it’s good. Nobody (2020), but at Christmas

Nice. In terms of 'Joker', I saw it in the theaters and waited for the blu-ray to go down in price. I did get it but have only seen it 2 more times since the theater. I like it quite a bit, but I'm also more forgiving of adaptations and just being something different and not being beholden to source material and some others could be. I also saw it before I saw a lot of Scorsese films and really have enjoyed every film I've seen so far; some being favorite films now. I don't think that diminishes what I think about the film and am looking forward to what they do with the sequel as it's likely the only comic film I'll see this year and really the first one I'll see in theaters since 'The Batman'. I do think you will like 'True Grit' as well. First Cohen brothers film I saw several years ago now and one of my favorite films; possibly my favorite Jeff Bridges performance. While it is still laced with Cohen brothers humor, it is I think the most serious, at least up to the point it was made. Good picks overall.

True Grit is fine, I never watched the original. You're learning French, DJ? Great! I studied French for years, a very difficult language, I think. Even for a Portuguese speaker like myself.

Well I use the word “learning” very loosely. I’m using the Duolingo app every day. I doubt I’ll ever be able to speak fluently, but I’m enjoying what I’m learning

I sort of agree but only because it’s not a “Joker” movie in my opinion. If they would of changed the title and IP it would of been a great standalone movie
