I used to care about speed, and as I tried different bows I realized my 27.5” draw got all within 5 fps. I got a Axxis this year, definitely worth trying. Super smooth.

Looks like a nice bow Nate. Too bad no dealers here in KS or I would try it out.

Anyone have clearance issues with the fletching and strings by the roller guard on the Axxis 35? It the roller guard adjustable without a press?

Great review sad to see this company close. Quick question how is your view on the ez bow sight? Do you still use it or moved past it?

I shoot target archery 9-10 months out of the year and using it is not legal or feasible for those events.

I never put anything on my string other than wax. Glues and solvents can damage or become sharp brittle fragments that damage or degrade a string.

Great video as always! Too bad about Athens.... Re. tuning: Don't you want to look at cam angle @ full draw before deciding whether to move both (or just 1) cam while tuning out a tear? PS: Is this now "full time" for you? (I think I remember seeing a video years back where you indicated you were teaching English.)

I never look at cam angle. I will check for spacer distance either side to see if I'm making an issue worse, or putting a bandaid on a bigger issue. No, this is not full time for me. I still maintain a full time job working in the marketing department for Huntworth camo out of Pittsburgh, PA.

I shoot a pse stinger max is it worth upgrading to a 800$ bow or wait for when I can afford a flagship?

75lbs of KE +or- a few lbs pretty consistent. The only anomaly was the 455gr arrow was reading abnormally high compared to the others, even the heavier arrows. (Not a critique just posting information, i find KE to be a extremely usefull and overlooked measurement because it allows you to predict speed for any arrow weight. A 350 grain arrow out of this bow should be going close to 311fps)

whats the draw cycle like? and how is the grip- looks very thin

Watch my past videos on the Elevate and Vista series. Draw cycles are identical as the cam is the same. Excellent, smooth cycle that lends to either the hunting woods or the target ranges very well.

Is the Athens door closing permanent?

Sucks about Athens announcing they're closing shop. I was a week away from buying one, now I don't think I will. Hate it for you dealers that worked so hard to feature their products and spread the word.

The bows are the best hands down just as good yesterday as they are today. Never seen one with any warranty issues and I was a dealer I made sure to buy extra just because I love them

Damn dude, it sucks that Athens got sued and now are out of business, what Bow are you going to go with now ?

Your comments were timely weren't they. They just announced today that they are closing their doors because they are being sued and don't have the resources to fight the suit. Look, there are several companies that have simplified tuning systems. Bowtech, APA and Elite come to mind. But APA and Elite have very different systems. Athens flat out copied Bowtechs. They should have known better.
